As the nation reels from last week’s terror attack committed by an Afghan national in D.C., Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem recently took to social media to push for a strict travel ban.

Have you taken your place on the wall?

    From the Daily Wire:

Noem said on Monday she had met with President Donald Trump and pushed for a travel ban on all countries that have “been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.” Noem’s move to crack down on foreign entry into the United States comes as the president has paused asylum claims from 19 countries after an Afghan national allegedly killed a National Guardsman in Washington, D.C.

“Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom—not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS,” Noem wrote in a post on X. “WE DON’T WANT THEM. NOT ONE.”

Noem did not specify which countries would be included in the travel ban under her criteria.

Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal allegedly shot two National Guardsmen in D.C. last Wednesday. Lakanwal, who has worked with U.S. forces in Afghanistan, came into the nation during our disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Though the Trump administration granted him asylum earlier this year, Secretary Noem stressed that the vetting should have been done by the Biden administration when he entered and when he applied for asylum, not by the Trump administration.

Though it is unclear which nations Secretary Noem would like to see included in a travel ban, President Trump on Thanksgiving announced a pause on asylum claims from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. He clarified on Sunday there was no time limit to this pause, echoing the DHS Secretary by saying, “We don’t want those people.”

As IFA covered yesterday, it is apparent that our porous borders under President Biden have put us in danger. As our leaders consider the best way to deal with the threats within our border and protect us, let’s pray for them!
