"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21 (NKJV)

Yesterday, we talked about gaining God’s perspective, seeing the big picture, and being a person of prayer. Today, we focus on the final two “P’s”: be positive and expect God’s provision.

    4. Be Positive

Look in the mirror today and say, “Be positive!” That’s the 11th beatitude. Too many people are negative. Negative people don’t build or accomplish things.

Think about the two spies who brought back a positive report from the Promised Land—Joshua and Caleb. They saw possibilities, victory, and God’s favor. The other ten spies came back discouraged, fearful, and defeated. How many of us even remember their names? Nobody cares. Nobody names their children after negative people. Be positive. Positive things happen to positive people.

When David faced Goliath, he had two choices. He could have run away. But instead, he looked at Goliath and said, “There’s no way I can miss this big, corn-fed, big-headed fool! He’s an easy target!” He went in confident, positive, and victorious. That’s the mindset we need: seeing possibilities, not problems. Be positive in your life, work, and relationships. The law is true: you attract what you are.

    5. Expect God’s Provision

God owns everything. He owns all the donuts, all the cars, all the money, all the blessings. Let me tell you a story. A man in an airport bought a coffee and a small bag of donuts and couldn’t find a table. He finally sat at one with someone else on the other side. He grabbed a donut and ate it. But then, to his surprise, the man next to him reached over and took a donut. The man thought, “What audacity! He’s eating my donuts!” But he held his peace. The man left, and then the first man looked over and noticed that on top of his suitcase was his unopened bag of donuts. The stranger wasn’t stealing; he was sharing!

God works like that. He owns it all. Everything we have is His. When we put Him first—our finances, time, talents, treasures—He blesses us beyond measure. But putting God first means giving Him the steering wheel of your life. Not just letting Him ride along in the passenger seat, but truly letting Him lead at every crossroads. Sometimes, He will take you down a road of generosity or forgiveness, and it may not feel easy, but that’s how He grows you.

Ask yourself: Is Jesus first in your finances? In your decisions? In your giving? In your time? Where your treasure is, there your heart will be. If He’s not first in these areas, He’s not first in your life.

    Be positive in every season.

Expect God’s provision in every circumstance.

Trust Him, follow Him, and see how His blessings flow. When God is first, all these things—peace, purpose, provision, and victory—follow.

Prayer: Father, help me to be positive and to see Your possibilities in every situation. Teach me to expect Your provision and trust You with every area of my life. Let me put You first in all that I do and follow You fully, knowing You own everything and are faithful to provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
