“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” 1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV

Everything in the Kingdom of God begins small. Heaven is never intimidated by what looks reduced, overlooked, or discarded. In fact, Scripture shows us again and again that God often waits until something looks finished before He reveals His power through it.

In Judges 15, Samson defeats the Philistines with nothing more than the jawbone of a donkey. What everyone else had already picked over and left behind became a weapon in the hand of God. The enemy had chewed on it. Time had worn it down. Yet when God decided to use it, it was more than enough. This is a reminder that what remains after loss is often what God uses for victory.

The same principle appears throughout Scripture. When God wanted to deliver Israel from slavery, He did not send a warrior riding into Egypt. He sent a baby floating in a basket. Pharaoh did not fear a helpless infant, but that child named Moses would one day confront the throne and lead a nation to freedom. Little things go unnoticed by the enemy, but they never escape the attention of God.

When Samuel went to anoint the next king of Israel in First Samuel 16, Jesse brought out every son except the youngest. David was left tending sheep. He was overlooked. He was unseen. Yet the oil refused to flow until David entered the room. God made it clear that what He had reserved for David could not be poured on anyone else. The anointing waited for the faithful one.

David did not become bold in front of Goliath by accident. His courage was formed in obscurity. While caring for sheep, he fought a lion and a bear. No audience. No applause. Just obedience in small assignments. Those unseen victories prepared him for a public breakthrough. Jesus taught this same truth in Luke 16 when He said that those who are faithful with little can be trusted with much. God watches how we steward what belongs to others, how we handle small responsibilities, and how we value the season we are in right now. Promotion is always connected to preparation.

Do not devalue where you are. Do not dismiss what you have left. If there is breath in your lungs, there is purpose for your life. God specializes in restoration. What looks insignificant in your hands can become powerful when placed in His. The little thing you are faithful with today may be the very thing God uses to open the next door tomorrow.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times I have undervalued what You placed in my hands. Help me to be faithful in the small assignments and trust You with the outcome. I place what I have left before You and believe You for restoration, increase, and Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
