As conflict in the Middle East continues, there may yet be hope for a peaceful resolution. President Trump recently announced a pause in strikes on Iran, citing “very good and productive conversations with the nation.

Trump says the U.S. and Iran have held talks on the “complete and total resolution of hostilities” in the Middle East driven by Operation Epic Fury.
The president says that, as a result of the diplomatic exchanges, he has postponed threatened future strikes on Iranian power plants and infrastructure.
Trump says he will “postpone any and all strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure” for a five day period.

Over the weekend, the President gave Iran a 48-hour deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to “obliterate” the nation’s power plants if it refused. His announcement on Monday morning also came mere hours after Iran threatened to deploy naval mines across the gulf.
The decision to pause strikes is already sending ripples across the world. Breitbart reported that oil prices plunged and European stocks surged in the wake of the announcement.
Jesus says blessed are the peacemakers (Matt. 5:9), and it is encouraging to see our Commander-in-Chief aiming to be a peacemaker in the Middle East. Though Iran has proved uncooperative thus far, let’s pray that the Islamic nation listens to reason, and let’s pray for peace in the Middle East!
