Sharing the gospel in China has long required wisdom and discretion. But recent expansions of religious regulations have made the work even more delicate. Online religious activity is being monitored more closely. Public evangelistic promotion is increasingly restricted. Religious printing and distribution have slowed significantly.
These realities remind us of Christ’s counsel to be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16).
Because of these tightening conditions, the number of people finding our websites has declined, even though seeds of digital Bible truth were planted in Chinese hearts nearly five million times. While these numbers remain significant, they reflect the impact of increased censorship, slower secure servers implemented for protection, and limited public promotion.
Yet what is a contraction in one area has become an expansion in another.
As public access narrows, private digital sharing is accelerating. Over a recent four-month period, 17 private social media accounts reposted precious Bible truth and uploaded 204 short evangelistic videos. Seekers gave 360,880 likes, re-posted 468,855 times, and left 73,768 comments.
Nearly half a million engagements in just four months! That represents extraordinary spiritual hunger.
Truth is now traveling relationally—quietly passed from friend to friend, screen to screen—beyond what can be publicly measured.
Chinese hunger for truth is showing up in another unexpected way: China was the second-largest active user of the Amazing Facts English website in 2025.
Because of your faithfulness, discipleship continues to grow. Today, 5,106 students are enrolled and studying God’s Word in the Chinese online Bible school, and 1,208 have completed the whole course, making decisions for Christ. This year alone, 10,687 individuals were personally assisted through secure online Bible correspondence. Because safety is paramount, anonymous systems are used to protect both workers and seekers.
We are also aware of 29 individuals who began keeping the seventh-day Sabbath this year. Eighteen have connected with a Sabbath-keeping fellowship. At least five baptisms are confirmed, though many believers understandably choose not to report publicly. Thank you for giving them the truth!
The visible door may be narrowing—but the hunger for Christ remains strong. Seventy-four percent of people coming to the website are new each month. Average time reading remains steady. People are still searching.
And because you continue to stand as a co-laborer with Amazing Facts, the truth is still reaching them.
From Darkness to Light
Sister Fan and her family have burned incense and worshiped in temples for generations. Yet despite their devotion, she shares, “The more we practiced these rituals, the worse our lives became.”
After converting to Catholicism, she served faithfully for years. But in 2018, she encountered The Great Controversy and other Spirit of Prophecy books. “I was shocked after reading them and quickly decided to leave the Catholic Church.”
That same year, she was introduced to Pastor Doug’s sermons. “Since 2019, I have been watching and sharing the truth messages from the Amazing Facts website. Pastor Doug’s powerful sermons and messages of truth deeply moved me and transformed my life. Thank God!”
Leaving her former church brought intense opposition. “My husband… strongly opposed my decision, even threatening divorce. Relatives, friends, and former sisters in the faith also treated me coldly, and I felt isolated.” Yet she testifies, “With the support of the Holy Spirit, I remained strong in the Lord and unwavering in my faith.”
Sister Fan was baptized in 2021. Over time, her husband’s heart softened. “After observing me for several years, seeing the changes in my life, … his heart was touched by the Holy Spirit.” She rejoices, “Finally, this year, my husband was also baptized and accepted Christ. Glory be to God! This is what I am most grateful for.”
Looking back, she praises God “for calling my husband and me out of the great city of Babylon, saving us from false doctrines, leading us from darkness to light, from death to eternal life.”
“Thank you to the (AF Chinese website) team for your faithful service,” she says. “May God continue to use you to lead more people back to the truth!”
Filled with Joy
Brother Du introduces himself simply: “I am Brother Du, and I am 36 years old this year.”
His spiritual journey began long before he recognized God’s presence in his life. “My mother became a believer when I was 12, and for over a decade, she never stopped sharing the gospel with me, but I never accepted it.”
He says that even when she wrote to him during his military service, appealing to him to accept Christ, “the letter didn’t move me at all.” But years later, he rediscovered the letter, and this time his heart was ready to accept the Savior. “Reading that decade-old letter, I finally understood my mother’s heart, and I was filled with deep emotion and gratitude. It was precisely because my mother never gave up praying for me that I had the opportunity to step into a church and come to know the Lord Jesus.”
A turning point came when he received Pastor Doug’s testimony book, The Richest Cavemen. “I was surprised and delighted that someone gave me a book as a gift. I finished reading it in just six hours.”
The story deeply affected him. “Pastor Doug’s testimony moved me deeply. I was suddenly very touched and deleted all my fantasy novels, computer games, and mobile games. I thought, if Pastor Doug, coming from such a background, could achieve what he has, then I can too.”
From that moment, he says, “my faith underwent a transformation.” Though he had attended church before, “I didn’t have a deep personal relationship with Jesus.” But through the book and “the working of the Holy Spirit, God began to break the addictions and chains in my life.”
Reflecting on the change, he shares, “I dropped out of school after junior high because I didn’t like studying, but Jesus changed me. It’s truly amazing; sometimes I still find it hard to believe myself.”
His joy became contagious. “I told my wife, ‘You should go to church too; let’s go together, it’s really wonderful.’” Today he testifies, “Our family is very happy in Jesus, and our hearts are filled with joy!”
“I Found the Answers I was Seeking”
Brother Wang traces his spiritual hunger back to childhood in the 1980s: “Since childhood, two questions have lingered in my mind: Where did I come from? And where am I going?” After witnessing death at age 12, he remembers, “My heart was filled with confusion and despair: If death is inevitable, what is the meaning of life?”
Though his career flourished, the question remained. “Money, fame, status… none of these were what I truly sought. So, what is the purpose of life? Is it merely to wait for death? A voice deep within me told me that I must find the meaning of life. It was at this moment that I opened my dusty Bible and began searching for answers.”
In 2011, Brother Wang encountered the Chinese Amazing Facts website. “Since then, God has opened my heart. I eagerly listened to Pastor Doug’s sermons; his words were simple and easy to understand, making me feel as if I were immersed in the ocean of the Bible, experiencing God’s wonder and greatness.” After years of searching, “I found the answers I had been seeking for years.”
When he lacked a church, the Amazing Facts team connected him with one. “This allowed me to experience the sweetness of God’s wonderful love,” he says.
Yet, his path has not been easy. “After I became a believer, my wife began to persecute me.” Yet as he knelt in prayer to forgive his wife, he experienced something profound: “I felt God’s love, a sweetness I had never experienced before.”
Brother Wang shared the truth with his atheist father many times, but he was repeatedly rejected. Then, in 2019, his father was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. The local pastor and his family welcomed Brother Wang, his ailing father, and the rest of the family into their home. “They treated us like honored guests,” he says.
Under their loving care, Wang’s father accepted Christ before his death. “Ultimately, he repented of his sins and truly turned to Christ. My mother and wife also subsequently came to faith in the Lord. Our family has been blessed with such salvation and great love from God.”
Today, Brother Wang declares, “I am willing to share the Amazing Truth website and videos with more people, so that they, too, can experience God’s great love and truth.” Looking back, he concludes, “I thank Him for granting me such a precious faith, allowing me to find true meaning and value in my life’s journey.”
The gospel work in China is increasingly sensitive. Windows of opportunity can narrow quickly, and we do not know how long they will remain open. Please pray for wisdom and protection for those sharing biblical truth discreetly. Pray that God will raise up additional qualified translators. Pray for the thousands encountering Scripture online. And pray for new believers who must often stand alone.
