From The Washington Times:
A recent swarm of drones that intruded on an Air Force nuclear bomber base in Louisiana remains under investigation, the Air Force Global Strike Command said.
On March 9, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, was put on temporary lockdown after “several unauthorized drone incursions that varied in duration and number of drones” disrupted operations, the command said Tuesday in a statement.
The action is believed to be criminal activity. But with the Iran conflict underway and threats of Tehran using low-cost Shahed strike drones, fears of an attack were heightened.
This incident underscores the growing threat posed by drone technology, particularly when used near critical military infrastructure. What was once limited to hobbyist use has rapidly evolved into a tool that can be weaponized, surveil sensitive locations, or disrupt operations at some of the nation’s most secure facilities.
The mention of Iran and its use of low-cost strike drones raises additional concerns about foreign adversaries and their ability to exploit vulnerabilities. As IFA intercessors know, threats to national security are not just physical—they also require spiritual vigilance, as hostile actors seek to destabilize and weaken nations.
This is not the first time we’ve seen drones around military bases. Military leaders have already acknowledged that drone incursions represent an “evolving threat,” and efforts are underway to strengthen defenses. Still, the ability of unauthorized drones to approach such a high-value target highlights the need for continued vigilance and stronger countermeasures.
For intercessors, this situation is a call to pray for protection over our military and national security assets. Let’s pray that every threat would be exposed and stopped, that our leaders would act with wisdom, and that our nation would be shielded from harm.
