“Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” Luke 24:32 (KJV)
There is something powerful that happens when you truly spend time with Jesus. It is not quiet, lifeless religion. It is not routine or obligation. It is fire. A real encounter with Him stirs something deep inside of you that cannot be hidden or ignored. Jesus said He would baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. That means your walk with Him was never meant to be cold or casual. You were created to live with passion, with boldness, with a heart that burns for Him. When that fire is alive in you, it changes everything.
People begin to notice. Just like the early believers, others can tell when you have been with Jesus. There is a difference in your spirit. There is a confidence in your life that does not come from circumstances, but from His presence. And that fire matters most when you are in a season of waiting or battle. When Abraham stood in that place of promise, after he had obeyed and prepared everything, darkness came. The waiting stretched on. The pressure increased. But then God showed up as a flaming fire, moving through what had been prepared. That fire drove away everything that tried to bring death, doubt, and discouragement.
The same is true for you. The fire of God in your life will drive away the things that try to settle over your home. Fear cannot stay where His presence is strong. Doubt cannot remain where faith is alive. Discouragement cannot take root where there is real praise. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is lift your voice. Praise is not just a song. It is a weapon. It creates an atmosphere where the enemy cannot stay. When you begin to thank Jesus, when you begin to declare His goodness, you are pushing back darkness, whether you feel it immediately or not.
This matters for your family. You are not just standing for yourself. You are standing for your home, your marriage, your children, and the generations behind you. The enemy would love for you to grow tired, to lose your fire, and to give up. But when you stay stirred, when you stay filled with the Spirit, you become a force that drives back everything trying to come against what God has promised.
Even now, God wants to restore your confidence. Not confidence in yourself, but confidence in Him. He has never failed you. What He has done before, He will do again. The promise still stands. So do not stay silent. Stir up the fire again. Lift your voice. Worship with expectation. Let your heart burn with the presence of Jesus. Because when the fire of God is burning in your life, the enemy has no place to stay.
Prayer: Lord, fill me again with Your fire. Stir my heart, strengthen my faith, and let my life reflect that I have truly been with You. Amen.
