    Get Them to Jesus

“And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee… And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.” (Luke 2:39–40 NKJV)

When you think about heroes of faith, you might picture people who did extraordinary things in public. Yet Mary and Joseph show you something deeply powerful about quiet, consistent faithfulness. They were chosen to raise Jesus, and while that calling was unique, what made them heroes was something you can live out every day. They simply built their lives around God and raised their child in it.

They were not perfect people with perfect conditions. They faced fear, uncertainty, and responsibility that most could not imagine. Still, they said yes to God. They ordered their home around His will. They followed His instructions even when life got hard. They created an environment where Jesus could grow strong in spirit and full of wisdom. That did not happen by accident. It happened because they were intentional. That is what made them heroes. They made the things of God central in their family. They brought Jesus into the house of God. They honored what God had spoken. They lived in a way that reflected trust and obedience. Even when they did not fully understand everything, they stayed faithful. Their consistency created a covering where growth could happen.

In the same way, you are called to lead your family with that same kind of faithfulness. You are a hero when you make God the center of your home. You are a hero when you bring your family into His presence, when you prioritize church, and when you build rhythms that keep Him first. You are a hero when your children see faith lived out, not just talked about. There will be moments that feel ordinary. There will be seasons where it feels routine. But do not underestimate what God is doing in those moments. Growth often happens quietly. Strength is built over time. What you consistently place before your family will shape who they become.

Mary and Joseph did not try to control every outcome. They created the kind of environment where God could work. That is your role too. You cannot force faith, but you can foster it. You can lead, guide, and position your family in a place where the presence of God is real and active. You may not always see immediate results, but heaven sees your faithfulness. When you keep showing up, keep leading, and keep pointing your family toward God, you are doing something eternal. You are building a life where His grace can rest and remain.

Mary and Joseph were heroes because they centered their home around God and raised their child in that environment. You are a hero when you do the same.

Prayer: Father, help me to build my home around You. Give me consistency and faithfulness in the everyday moments. Let my life reflect Your truth so that my family can grow strong in You. Draw us closer to Your presence and let Your grace rest on our home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
