Tina Peters spoke to a “packed crowd” on Friday at the Rocky Mountain Voice Freedom Festival.

IFA has been following Ms. Peters’ story since 2021, when the FBI invaded her home at 6 a.m., waking the 60-year-old single woman to a SWAT team in full combat gear. This is because she exposed that 29,000 election logs were deleted during a “Trusted Build” in 2020.

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.

Peters told hundreds at Freedom Festival, ”This is our 1776 moment,” and she certainly suffered under something addressed by four grievances in our Declaration of Independence: Unjust judges and unfair trials.

Matthew Barrett, appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D), sentenced her to nine years, saying, “Prison is for those folks where we send people who are a danger to all of us, whether it be by the pen or the sword or the word of the mouth,” admitting that he was shutting down her freedom of speech.

On December 11 (a year and a day after we prayed), President Donald Trump pardoned Ms. Peters, saying Governor Polis…

…won’t allow our wonderful Tina to come out of a jail — in a high-intensity jail — because she caught people cheating on an election, and they said she was cheating. She wasn’t cheating. She went over; she looked at one of the election scams going on, and because she did that, they put her in jail for nine years.

Governor Polis and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser took no action then, claiming presidential pardons are only applicable to federal charges.

Then, on April 2, the Colorado Court of Appeals ordered that Ms. Peters must be resentenced, concluding that “the trial court should not have considered [her] beliefs relevant when imposing sentence.”

This prompted Governor Polis to take action, cutting her 8¾ year sentence to 4⅜ years, and releasing her on parole June 1, after 20 months in prison.

    Freedom Festival

Ms. Peters was greeted by a standing ovation when she spoke on June 26, 25 days after her release.

She thanked those present and around the world for their financial support as she faced legal fees, and for their prayers. She said, “Thank you. You’re my heroes.”

She addressed the charges, including that she had allowed unauthorized access to election equipment, saying, “I didn’t have an unauthorized person in there. I was elected by the people. I had an authorized person that has preserved the election records that are required by federal law.”

One of the stories she mentioned about her time in prison was when she was attacked. Someone on her team posted the day after:

As far as Tina is aware, the inmate who assaulted her has not been charged, slept in their cell last night, and will face no consequences. This incident is clearly a targeted attack against Peters. In all likelihood, it is being used as an opportunity to isolate and harass Tina Peters.

    How we prayed…

When we reported the grievances of her unconstitutional sentencing, we did something our founders did in signing the Declaration, “…appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world…” who is Jesus Christ.

Bret Smith leads the IFA Colorado Prayer Team, and their state motto is “Nil sine numine,” which is translated “Nothing without the Deity.” On Monday, Mr. Smith wrote to IFA, “We have been praying for Tina weekly.”

In December 2024, he wrote to IFA, “We have been praying that Tina’s suffering be short, and she be strengthened and restored. As said in 1 Peter 5:10, And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

In March, he sent the Colorado Prayer Team a prayer by Anita Lynott, the IFA Florida Prayer Group leader:

Father God, I lift up Tina Peters, who is in prison before You. You see the truth of what has happened, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. You know every person and every act that led to this injustice. I ask that You expose the truth in Your perfect time and way. And I ask that it will happen SUDDENLY!!!

    How can we pray now?

Hank Kunneman, pastor of Lord of Hosts Church in Omaha, NE, believes the release of Ms. Peters is “a sign pointing to a bigger redemptive purpose.” Let’s pray this opens the door to more justice in America. As Ms. Peters’ release is in the wake of rededicating America to the Lord, let’s pray we respond with deeper commitment to the Lord.

When pardoning Ms. Peters, President Trump referred to evidence of cheating that happened in 2020, saying, “You’ll see that coming out more.”

Let’s pray as Ms. Lynott encouraged the Colorado Prayer Group to do: “You are the God who avenges and repays those who do harm, for it is written, He is the God who pays back those who harm me (Psalm 18:47a).”

Ms. Peters told those at Freedom Festival, ”You cannot back down. You cannot give up, and you cannot give in.”

Let’s go to our knees with that resolve. Post your prayers in the comments below for Ms. Peters, fair elections, justice for the real criminals, and righteous judges…
