“Get ready, get ready, get ready.”
Linda had just opened her kitchen blinds and thought she saw the face of Jesus by the back hedge. Twice, she heard the words. “Get ready, get ready, get ready.”
Get ready for what? At the time, she had no answer. But God was already at work through you, preparing to change two lives in a remarkable way.
Linda’s husband, Andy, was a retired pilot and Vietnam veteran known as the life of the party. He had spent decades far from the church. Not long after Linda heard those surprising words, the couple discovered an Amazing Facts program on TV.
Week after week, they watched. The straightforward presentation of Scripture resonated with Andy. One day, he turned to Linda and said, “I understand this guy. He makes sense.”
The weeks passed, and Andy’s interest grew. Then Linda asked him the most important question she had ever asked: “Have you given your heart to Jesus?” To her unspeakable joy, he said yes.

A Memorial Service to Remember
Then Andy suggested they visit Pastor Doug’s church. They did—and just a few days later, Andy peacefully fell asleep in Jesus.
Linda asked me to conduct a memorial service at their home. About 50 guests gathered in the backyard. They all heard the invitation to “get ready” for Jesus’ soon return.
Friend, those precious people were touched in that backyard because you made it possible to share lifesaving truth when someone switched channels.
A New Door Has Opened
Andy met God in his armchair. He never attended an evangelistic meeting. Truth came to him—and that was enough to help him “get ready” for eternity. That’s why a new door into more living rooms matters so much.
