Antisemitism is continuing to rise across the world, and a new international report warns that violence against Jewish people has reached its deadliest level in decades. The findings come as Israel remains at war with Hamas, and Jewish communities in multiple nations report growing fear for their safety.

According to the report, 20 people were killed in antisemitic attacks in 2025, making it the deadliest year for antisemitic violence since 1994. All of the fatal attacks occurred in J7 countries. Violent antisemitic incidents increased 97% since 2022, while the total number of reported incidents rose 136% during the same period.

The report concluded that antisemitism is “no longer confined to the fringes” in the countries it examined. It also found that anti-Zionism related to the war in Gaza has become “a vehicle for antisemitic expression,” while educational institutions have become an “acute flashpoint” for hatred.
Combined with growing online extremism, the report said Jewish people “across the globe report hiding their Jewish identity in public” and questioning “whether they have a future in their home countries.”
The report’s findings reinforce what many Jewish organizations and security experts have been warning since Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel: hostility toward the Jewish state has increasingly spilled over into hostility toward Jewish people themselves. While criticism of any government is protected speech, the report argues that anti-Zionist rhetoric has too often become a cover for antisemitic language, intimidation, and violence directed at Jewish communities far removed from the conflict in the Middle East.
The United States remains one of the countries most affected. Although reported incidents declined somewhat from the previous year, thousands of antisemitic incidents—including hundreds of physical assaults—were documented in 2025. The report also points to alarming trends in schools, universities, and online spaces, where antisemitic ideas can spread rapidly and normalize hatred. Recent arrests involving an alleged plot to attack a Houston synagogue underscore law enforcement’s concern that violent rhetoric can evolve into real-world threats.
For intercessors, these developments are especially significant. Scripture repeatedly affirms God’s covenant with Israel and calls us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). Rising antisemitism is not merely a political or social concern; it is a reminder that hatred toward the Jewish people has persisted throughout history and continues to manifest in new forms today. As this hostility grows around the world, let’s pray for God’s protection over Jewish communities, for leaders to confront evil with justice, and for hearts to be transformed by the truth of the Gospel.
