Raised in a small village in Kenya, Alexander Omollo did not grow up as a Christian. In 1993, he was imprisoned and faced a possible death sentence. While in prison, members of the Lutheran church regularly visited him to preach and teach God’s love and forgiveness. The Holy Spirit was at work. After serving 11 years, he was released, an experience he describes as life-changing. Alexander found hope through Christ, which helped him see beyond his despair. Today, he is grateful to be alive, reunited with his family, and serving the Lord. He shared his newfound faith with his family, who also grew to love and believe in Christ. He generously donated land to the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ-Kenya so the Luara congregation would have a place to worship. The land he donated was also the location for the 2026 Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM) medical camp where members of the church, CAMM, and government volunteers interacted with close to 2400 patients. Thankful for the faith he received through God’s Word, Alexander saw the medical camp as a blessing and a chance to serve others with Christ’s love while sharing the hope of Jesus with patients.
