FBI Director Kash Patel says the bureau prevented hundreds of planned terrorist attacks on American soil last year, offering a rare glimpse into the scope of the threats facing the nation. The newly disclosed figures underscore ongoing concerns about both foreign and domestic terrorism, as well as the importance of continued vigilance by federal, state, and local law enforcement.

From The Epoch Times:
“In December of last year, the FBI shut down four terrorist attacks in 30 days,” he said. “That’s a pretty monumental achievement, especially during the holidays, but it’s because we were resourced and backed by the White House and the administration to get these sort of achievements.”
Those four attacks were set to take place in Southern California, Texas, Florida, and New York state, Patel said.
Suspects in those unrelated instances all planned to attack places of worship, schools, businesses, or “Americans wherever they could,” he said.
According to Patel, the FBI disrupted 715 planned terror attacks across the United States last year, many of them connected to ISIS or other terrorist organizations. He said America’s adversaries continue seeking opportunities to carry out attacks by exploiting illegal immigration, radicalized U.S. citizens, and foreign nationals already inside the country. Patel emphasized that successful investigations require both patience and swift action, allowing agents to dismantle entire terrorist networks while collecting the evidence needed to secure convictions.
The threat has continued into this year. In June, the FBI announced it had foiled an alleged plot targeting a White House UFC event attended by President Donald Trump and other elected officials. Authorities also stopped an ISIS-inspired New Year’s Eve attack in North Carolina and previously arrested suspects connected to an alleged multi-state Halloween terror plot targeting an amusement park and LGBT-friendly venues. Patel credited advanced investigative tools and close cooperation among federal, state, and local agencies with preventing these attacks before they could be carried out.
As intercessors, we should thank God for those who work daily to protect our nation from acts of terror while praying for His continued protection over America. Scripture reminds us that “unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Let’s pray for wisdom for law enforcement, discernment to uncover evil before it strikes, and God’s peace and protection over our communities.
