For years, Americans who dared to question the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic were dismissed, mocked, and silenced. Now a federal guilty plea is confirming what millions suspected all along: top officials inside the National Institutes of Health conspired to hide the truth from the American people during the deadliest public health crisis of our lifetimes.

From The Western Journal:
Dr. David Morens, a former senior adviser at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, had been charged with conspiracy against the United States; destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations; concealment, removal, or mutilation of records; and aiding and abetting, according to a Department of Justice news release. He could face a sentence of five years in prison.
In 2024, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic learned Morens used his personal email to discuss National Institutes of Health grants with EcoHealth Alliance, according to The Hill. Doing so meant his communications could not be revealed through Freedom of Information requests. In one communication, Morens wrote to EcoHealth President Peter Daszak, “I can either send stuff to Tony on his private gmail, or hand it to him at work or at his house. He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”
Fauci has tried to put distance between himself and Morens. “With respect to his recent testimony before this subcommittee, I knew nothing of Dr. Morens’s actions regarding Dr. Daszak, EcoHealth or his emails. It is important to point out for the record that despite his title, and even though he was helpful to me in writing scientific papers, Dr. Morens was not an advisor to me on [NIAID] policy, or other substantive issues,” Fauci said.
The guilty plea stems from Morens routing official government communications through personal email accounts to shield them from Freedom of Information Act requests, effectively blocking the public’s right to know what their own government was doing with taxpayer dollars. Among the most damning communications uncovered: Morens boasted in a 2021 message that he had learned from an FOIA officer how to make emails disappear before a search could begin, and that he had already deleted earlier emails after forwarding them to Gmail.
Federal law enforcement was unambiguous in its response. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche called the conduct a profound abuse of trust at a time when the American people needed transparency most. FBI Director Kash Patel noted that Morens received kickbacks for his role in the scheme and warned that those who conspire against the United States will face justice. U.S. Attorney Kelly Hayes added that deliberate concealment of records in a federal investigation is not just a breach of duty but a betrayal of public trust.
This is not a story about one rogue bureaucrat. It is a story about a culture of deception that took root at the highest levels of America’s public health system at the moment the nation needed honesty the most. When officials conspire to suppress alternative theories about a pandemic’s origins, the American people are robbed of the truth necessary to hold their government accountable.
Scripture is clear that God hates a lying tongue and a false witness who pours out lies (Proverbs 6:16-19). The body of Christ is not called to naivety. We are called to be watchmen, to pray with open eyes, and to expose every hidden work of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). Pray that every concealed thing connected to the origins of COVID-19 would be fully brought to light. Pray for the families who lost loved ones and deserved the truth from their government. Pray that God would raise up men and women of integrity in public service who fear Him more than they fear congressional subpoenas.
