“She said, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.’” Mark 5:28 (NIV)

There is a difference between being around Jesus and being touched by Jesus. Crowds pressed in on Him that day, but only one woman received the miracle she needed. She had been bleeding for twelve years. Doctors had taken all her money and left her no better. But somewhere in her heart, she decided that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be healed. She pressed through the crowd, through her weakness, and through her fear. And when she touched Him, Jesus stopped.

Think about that. The Creator of the universe stopped for one desperate woman. He felt her faith. Power left His body and changed her life. The disciples didn’t understand it. They said, “Master, everyone is touching you.” But Jesus knew the difference between a crowd brushing against Him and a believer reaching for Him. Her touch drew His power because it came from faith and hunger.

Many people come to church, listen to worship, and sit in His presence, but not everyone gets His touch. It’s not enough to be near Him. You must reach for Him. There’s something powerful about a heart that refuses to stay hidden and says, “Lord, I need You.”

One touch from God can do what years of trying could never do.

One touch can heal what doctors cannot. One touch can break an addiction, calm anxiety, and set a soul free.

Later, Jesus visited the home of Mary and Martha. Martha was busy serving and trying to make everything perfect, while Mary sat at His feet, soaking in His presence. Martha grew frustrated, but Jesus gently said, “Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.” Mary chose the better part — the moment of connection, the touch of His presence.

Maybe you have been busy, distracted, and worried about many things. You’ve been working for God but haven’t felt His touch in a long time. The invitation is still open. He’s waiting for you to reach past the noise, past the crowd, and touch Him again.

Prayer: Lord, I need Your touch today. Help me slow down and reach for You like the woman with the issue of blood. I don’t want to just be near You, I want to feel Your power in my life again. Touch my heart, renew my spirit, and let Your presence make me whole. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
