“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)
Maybe you’ve been laughed at, mocked, or written off. People saw your strikeouts but not your potential. But when God’s Spirit comes upon you, He puts something inside you that the world cannot take away. You might not do everything well, but there is something God anointed you to do, and when you walk in that calling, it makes a difference. Even if it’s as simple as making “finger lickin’ good chicken,” it can touch lives, bless families, and glorify God. The same people who doubted you will see the goodness of the Lord working through you.
God is not finished with you. Maybe you’ve failed, fallen, or denied Him like Simon Peter did. Maybe your past keeps crowing like a rooster, reminding you of your mistakes. But God says, “Tell the roosters to be quiet.”
Jesus doesn’t measure you by your past. He calls you into your future.
When the Holy Spirit fills your heart, He gives you another chance, another swing at life. You don’t have to live as the strikeout king—you can rise again as a home run hitter for the glory of God.
There is grace for the divorced, hope for the broken, and purpose for the ones sitting in the ashes of failure. God sees every tear. He knows the weight you carry, and He’s still saying, “Get back up. I have more for you.” You may think your story is over, but it’s not. The same Jesus who restored Peter, who took him from denial to preaching a sermon that brought 3,000 souls to salvation, is still writing comeback stories today.
Maybe you feel unworthy, but God calls you chosen. Maybe you feel like it’s too late, but God says, “I’m not through with you yet.” The Spirit of God is putting the bat back in your hand. Keep swinging, keep believing, keep trusting that His strength is made perfect in your weakness. When you surrender fully to Him, He takes what was broken and turns it into something beautiful.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for never giving up on me. Even when I fail, You offer grace and another chance. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me rise again. Let my life bring glory to You, no matter how many times I’ve fallen. Today, I choose to believe that You’re not finished with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
