I want to share with you\u2026<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Two observations about this Christmas season:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4><strong>1) People are busier and more distracted than ever<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<p>Work is busy. School is busy\u2026 Everyone is throwing Christmas parties and doing gift exchanges\u2026 Every organization is asking for end of year donations\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Every device we own is filled with ads telling us we won\u2019t be happy (or the people we\u2019re supposed to buy gifts for won\u2019t be happy) unless we buy their product or service\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Anxiety and stress are at all time highs. As a result\u2026<\/p>\n<h4><strong>2) People are looking for peace and meaning more than ever.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Deep down, everyone knows the path to happiness this Christmas is not more decorations, more gifts, or more parties.<\/p>\n<p>People are open to alternatives to the usual, stressful, consumeristic Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>So, I want to encourage you, Christian brothers and sisters, church leaders\u2026 instead of trying to compete with the busyness of the world, instead of trying to get people to add more church things to people\u2019s schedule\u2026 pray and ask God to show you ways to help people slow down\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find simple ways to serve others and take things off people\u2019s plates.<\/li>\n<li>Challenge people to say \u201cno\u201d to things they may feel \u201cobligated\u201d to do because of tradition or expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage people to stop watching videos for a bit and to read and reflect on the Christmas story in the bible or Christmas devotionals.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate ways for people to connect and have longer, deeper conversations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more specific ideas, see 12 Christmas Outreach Event Ideas for Churches<\/p>\n<p>Because of all the busyness and distractions, no matter what you choose to do this year, remember:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Information about Christmas events and opportunities must be communicated clearly and repeatedly!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve got to be really clear on the details.\u00a0 And we\u2019ve got to communicate them in environments in which people are distracted and using lots of different communications platforms.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>OurChurch.Com is here to help you communicate your Christmas plans.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>If you need a new website, and need it fast and affordable, check out our WP-EZ Website Builder.
