Inflammatory voices like Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes have bought into the \u201cdoctrine of demons,\u201d according to Jack Hibbs, pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills.<\/p>\n
Hibbs, author of the new book, \u201cWatching Waiting: A 40-Day End Times Devotional,\u201d appears on an upcoming episode of CBN\u2019s \u201cFaith in Culture,\u201d where he shared what he sees as biblical ties between growing antisemitism and end times prophecy.<\/p>\n
Hibbs refers to the Old Testament passages of Ezekiel 38 and 39, describing a future invasion of Israel by a constellation of nations led by Gog of Magog, which God will supernaturally defeat to protect His chosen people.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo Christian should be ruffled by the comments of particular podcasters [like Owens or Fuentes] who are now fomenting this antisemitic view,\u201d he said. \u201cThat should be expected if you know your Bible. It shouldn\u2019t trouble you, but it doesn\u2019t mean you should be silent, either. You should speak up.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pastor went on to point to the Apostle Paul\u2019s writing in 1 Timothy 4:1, in which he wrote, \u201cNow the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that, in the last times, some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what\u2019s happening,\u201d he said, noting that Scripture states Jesus will return to Zion. \u201cIf Satan knows this, wouldn\u2019t it be advantageous, in his twisted thinking, to get an antisemitic flow to try to abolish the viability of the nation of Israel, to say that Israel is illegitimate, that it doesn\u2019t exist, that God didn\u2019t know what He was talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n
Because of his view on these prophesies, Hibbs encouraged believers to stand by Israel, though that doesn\u2019t mean Christians shouldn\u2019t be critical of some of the Israeli government\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course it\u2019s not sinless,\u201d he said. \u201cListen, Israel is as messed up as America is, which is exactly how messed up Canada is. Nations are messed up. But there\u2019s only one nation that has a covenant that God says, \u2018I\u2019ve made with them forever,\u2019 and it\u2019s not America \u2014 it\u2019s Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n
