<\/p>\n
\u201cCome and follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.\u201d -Matthew 4:19\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Have you ever felt insignificant? \u00a0Have you ever felt like nothing you did would matter to anyone else? \u00a0Conversely, have you ever felt valued? \u00a0Like, what you did really mattered to someone in this world?<\/p>\n If you ever ask a young person what they want to be when they grow up, they\u2019ll likely say something like, \u201cAn astronaut!\u201d \u201cA fireman!\u201d \u201cA ballerina!\u201d \u00a0\u201cA rockstar!\u201d Even from an early age, we\u2019re searching for significance. \u00a0We\u2019re searching to do something \u201ccool\u201d that makes an impact on others.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, so much of our American culture today focuses on who is in the spotlight. \u00a0We confuse the spotlight for significance. \u00a0But, once we\u2019ve tasted what it means to truly make a difference, the rest of the \u201cfluffy stuff\u201d just doesn\u2019t matter anymore. \u00a0What matters is that our lives mean something to others. I heard a pastor tell a story once about a few unnamed people who made a difference in his church. A small group of volunteers wanted to make a backdrop for their stage with the words \u201cThere is hope in Jesus\u201d. \u00a0A man walked in the next Sunday with his mind made up. \u00a0He had decided that that day was the day he was going to end his own life. \u00a0He thought to himself, \u201cI am going to go to church one last time. \u00a0And then, I am going to go home and end it.\u201d<\/p>\n The man walked into their church and looked at the words on the backdrop. \u00a0As the story was told, he observed the worship, he listened to the preaching, but when he got home that day, ready to do whatever he was going to do, all that he could think of was those words, \u201cThere is hope in Jesus.\u201d \u00a0Those words inspired him and kept him from taking his life that day.<\/p>\n Are you focused on making a difference in someone\u2019s life, versus just searching for success? \u00a0Success finds us when we make it a point to bless someone else. \u00a0Blessing can be in the form of words, an action, or a smile. \u00a0Who have you blessed today?<\/p>\n Subscribe Now<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Search for Significance \u201cCome and follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.\u201d -Matthew 4:19\u00a0 Have you ever felt insignificant? \u00a0Have you ever felt like nothing you did would matter to anyone else? \u00a0Conversely, have you ever felt valued? \u00a0Like, what you did really mattered to someone in this world?
