The president said he will realign the standards with real world market conditions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCombined with the insane electric vehicle mandate, Biden\u2019s burdensome regulations helped cause the price of cars to soar more than 425%, and in one case, they went up 18% in one year,\u201d Trump said. \u201cToday, we\u2019re taking one more step to kill the Green New Scam.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The president added that his administration\u2019s action \u201cis expected to save the typical consumer at least $1,000 off the price of a new car, and we think substantially more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under President Biden, \u201cauto manufacturers were required to increase fuel efficiency to an average of around 50 miles per gallon for vehicles by 2031,\u201d according to the Daily Wire. The White House called this rule a \u201cbackdoor electric vehicle mandate,\u201d insisting that its removal will take a major burden off of manufacturers.\n<\/p>\n<p>Ford CEO Jim Farley echoed this sentiment, suggesting in a statement ahead of the announcement that the President\u2019s move will enable Ford to \u201cinvest in affordable vehicles made in the U.S.\u201d He added, \u201cWe can make real progress on carbon emissions and energy efficiency while still giving customers choice and affordability.
