It is a living picture of how God works in your life right now. Scripture says that Jesus came in the fullness of time. He was not early. He was not late. He arrived at the exact moment history was ready for Him. When Jesus was born, the Roman Empire was at its height. Roads had been built that allowed people to travel farther than ever before. A common monetary system had been established so commerce could flow freely. Rome thought it was expanding its power, but God was quietly preparing the world for the spread of the gospel. Those same roads would soon carry the message of Jesus into every nation. Rome did not realize it, but they were serving a divine purpose.

God still works that way. He uses governments, economics, culture, and even upheaval to accomplish His plan. Nothing in your life is random. When things feel unstable, God is often positioning you for something greater.

A decree went out from Caesar for a census, forcing everyone to return to their hometown. That decree was not about Jesus, but God used it to move Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Prophecy required that the Messiah be born there. So God used political pressure and inconvenience to move one ordinary couple into their ordained place.

Mary and Joseph were uprooted. They had to travel far. Mary was pregnant, uncomfortable, exhausted, riding on a donkey. It was not an easy ride. But God was in every step. Sometimes the rough road is proof that His hand is on your life. When God is moving you toward purpose, the journey is rarely comfortable.

You may feel forced into change right now. You may be dealing with a job shift, a relocation, or a season of uncertainty. It may feel like everything is out of your control. But behind it all is a master plan. God is moving you toward His desired destination.

Mary never volunteered for greatness. She was just trying to live an ordinary life. But God stepped in and changed everything. And when she arrived, there was no room in the inn. She was overlooked, rejected, and treated as insignificant. Yet she was carrying the greatest promise the world had ever known.

God often entrusts His greatest purposes to people others overlook.

The rough ride does not mean God has forgotten you. It means He has chosen you.

Stay faithful.
