It\u2019s the Christmas season, but this doesn\u2019t mean that lies take a holiday. Unfortunately, they are a year-round problem that must be combatted with unrelenting truth.\n<\/p>\n

The first lie told by the Left this week revolves around Christmas and a far-Left organization that wants the holiday to be \u201cChrist-less.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Arkansas Governor Stands Up for Truth<\/h2>\n

The Governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, publicly rebuked the Freedom From Religion Foundation, for their request that she refrain from referring to the religious aspects of Christmas and instead promote it as an \u201cend of the year holiday\u201d with \u201cbroadly observed secular cultural aspects.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Governor Sanders responded to their demand in a detailed letter. \u201cI issued a proclamation closing state offices on Friday, December 26, to celebrate Christmas and offer state employees more time with their families. I am in receipt of a letter from your organization calling on me to rescind that proclamation because it \u2018gives a detailed theological narrative presenting core Christian doctrines, including the divinity of Jesus Christ, his crucifixion for the sins of mankind, his resurrection, and his anticipated return \u2018in glory.\u2019\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

The resolute governor added, \u201cYou say that my communications as governor must be neutral on matters of religion. I say that, even if I wanted to do that, it would be impossible. Christmas is not simply an \u2018end-of-the-year holiday\u2019 with \u2018broadly observed secular cultural aspects,\u2019 as your letter states. It\u2019s not gifts, trees, and stockings that make this holiday special. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and if we are to honor Him properly, we should tell His miraculous, world-changing story properly, too\u2026I will end by saying that you missed the point of my proclamation. It was not to browbeat readers with Christian doctrine, but rather to point to the humility of Christ\u2019s birth and to the amazing fact that the King of Kings was born not in a palace or temple, but in a humble manger attended only by poor shepherds. It is in that spirit of humility that I am reminded that Christ did not dine with wise Pharisees or rich men but rather with fishermen and outcasts. Though you may enter this season with bitterness, know that Christ is with you, that He loves you, and that He died for your sins just the same as He did for mine and everyone else\u2019s.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

Good Job, Governor Sanders!<\/h2>\n

Governor Sander\u2019s response to the lie that Christmas must be secularized at the government level was bold and inspiring. The Left wants Christians to believe that they must hide their faith in school settings, the workplace, government offices, and in all public venues. But the truth is that the United States is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles and religious freedom. We will not hide our light under a bushel. Instead, we will set it out on a table for all to see. The Christmas season is about letting the light of Christ shine.\n<\/p>\n

Chick-fil-A Promotes Same-Sex Marriage<\/h2>\n

The second lie told by the Left this week has circulated through newsfeeds since early December, but it\u2019s still making the rounds. The popular fast-food restaurant Chick-fil-A posted photos of two men who had just gotten married. The photos showed the men embracing each other and were featured by Chick-fil-A of Orem, Utah, on their Facebook account. The post displayed the message \u201cCongratulations to the happy couple.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Many Chick-fil-A customers complained about the post to the company, but they were greeted with this message: \u201cThank you for contacting Chick-fil-A CARES. Chick-fil-A embraces all people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Chick-fil-A is committed to being Better at Together by embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in everything we do. We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

While in 2012, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy affirmed that marriage is between one man and one woman, this stance changed in 2019 when Chick-fil-A caved into pressure from the LGBTQ community, who claimed that the company practiced discrimination. As a result, Chick-fil-A stopped giving donations to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) because of their support of biblical marriage. All the while, the company continued to support Covenant House, a group that hosts Drag Queen Story Hour.\n<\/p>\n

Chick-fil-A Fails the Test<\/h2>\n

The conservative Washington Stand<\/em> responded to Chick-fil-A\u2019s recent post by writing, \u201cMore than anything, what should frustrate loyal customers is that \u2013 unlike the secular corporations that promoted this agenda for decades without apology\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Chick-fil-A built a business model based almost entirely on faith. And frankly, that means they should be held to a higher standard\u2026 [Chick-fil-A] keeps profiting from its Christian reputation, only to turn around and sell out those same values.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

Conservative columnist Todd Starnes stated, \u201cMany loyal customers are wondering if Chick-fil-A\u2019s traditional values was simply a marketing ploy to endear themselves to Christians under false pretense.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

While pro-LGBTQ organizations insist that those who object to Chick-fil-A\u2019s promotion of gay marriage are \u201chomophobic,\u201d the truth is that the Bible defines marriage as between one man and one woman. If Chick-fil-A promotes itself as a Christian company, then it should abide by biblical truth instead of whatever the Left claims is \u201cinclusive.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Former D.C. Police Chief Rants<\/h2>\n

The third lie told by the Left this week has to do with Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith. The fired-up chief used the F bomb to address her \u201chaters\u201d during her farewell address, letting them know that she was not happy about her dismissal from the D.C. police department.\n<\/p>\n

A Republican-led House Oversight Committee report revealed that Smith had \u201cfudged crime statistics\u201d so it would be perceived by D.C. residents that the crime levels were lower than they actually were.\n<\/p>\n

The report explains that \u201cMPD\u2019s seven district commanders were bullied by Chief\u00a0Smith into downgrading key violent and property crimes to lesser offenses so they would not be shared in public crime updates.\u201d The chief was asked to resign after an investigation showed that she \u201ccoerced staff to report artificially low crime data and cultivated a culture of fear to achieve her agenda.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

During her farewell speech, Chief Smith declared, \u201cHow dare you! How dare you! How dare you attack my integrity, attack my character! You don\u2019t know who I belong to. So, I\u2019m going to the Bible when I say this to my haters: F you.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

The Trump Administration led a federal crackdown on crime in D.C., but the Left insisted that there was no issue with violent assaults, robberies, and murders in their city. Chief Smith is accused of supporting this narrative by telling officers in her department to lie about the numbers.\n<\/p>\n

The Left wants you to believe that liberally governed cities are safe and secure. But this lie is being disproven again and again as true crime statistics reveal the opposite. American cities need strong leadership that punishes crime rather than rewarding it.\n<\/p>\n
