This now-famous social media influencer has essentially blown the lid off the fraudulent and evil abuse of billions of taxpayer dollars in Minnesota, centered mainly in the Somali community. He and a man named David are seen in multiple videos knocking on the doors of “businesses” including supposed day care centers, autism centers, and health care centers.

Visit your state page to pray.

David had the receipts of where the allocation of taxpayer dollars was disseminated, which the two used to locate the centers and confront the individuals there. David warned prior to heading out to investigate that they needed to be very careful because the individuals they were going to confront were very violent. At most of the “businesses,” the two were met with resistance, denial of entry, and at times, the doors were locked with no one inside. The police arrived at a “health care center” with Nick being accused of harassment. At one point, he and David were being followed by Somalis.

It would seem that asking questions about the businesses, asking to enroll a child in the day care centers, and questioning where the tax dollars were going is “harassment”. He has been called a racist. His family has been doxed, and yet, he has persisted in this cause and others. Thankfully, his investigative journalism has gone viral, gaining the attention of the DHS, as the mainstream media had been woefully silent on this matter.

Because of Nick and Dave’s bravery in exposing this pervasive and massive fraud, childcare funds have been frozen in Minnesota. Finally, the federal government is conducting an investigation. Thus far, the DOJ has charged nearly 100 people in the Minnesota fraud scandal, with 85 of those people being from the state’s Somali community. And on Monday, January 5th, Governor Tim Walz announced he is dropping his reelection bid amid the welfare fraud scandal. I share all of this to say that one brave young man took this issue head-on, and God worked through him to expose the abuse of the funds provided by and on the backs of hardworking Americans.

We may often ask ourselves, “Can I make a difference?” “Will anyone listen?” “What can I do as one person?” I have heard it said that one person cannot do it all, but everyone can do something, and collectively that can change everything. You may not be called to be a social media influencer like Nick, but you can do something. Of course, our first call at IFA is to pray and intercede. That is our number one priority. Our Lord also calls us to take action.

In James 2:14-26, it says, “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’ And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

What an inspiration this Gen Zer Nick Shirley is! Thank God for him, and please pray for him and his family for protection and safety! May we all be inspired to take up the mantle of being world changers. This may look very different than what he has and is doing, and that is perfectly ok. Let’s seek God and then obey when He calls us to do what He has ordained for us. Let’s do it with joy, knowing He will bless and multiply it. One young man’s faithfulness sparked a federal investigation, leading to charges, the freezing of funds, and now Tim Walz stepping down from the governor’s race in Minnesota! Praise the Lord! What will you do for Him today?

Did you like this article?
