The index surveyed over 1,000 Americans and asked them for their opinions on a range of topics from curriculum opt-outs to sharing faith in public.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s Index shows that Americans \u2013 and especially younger generations \u2013 increasingly share a vigorous vision of religious liberty, one that is not confined to churches and private homes but expressed openly in the public square,\u201d Becket wrote in its report, which was first obtained by The Daily Wire.\n<\/p>\n<p>Becket found that 73% of Americans believe that parents should be able to opt their kids out of public school curriculum. That is a ten point increase since 2021 and comes after the Supreme Court\u00a0ruled\u00a0last year that a group of Maryland parents should be allowed to take their kids out of classroom instruction involving LGBT and sexuality-focused materials. That case was brought by Becket on behalf of a coalition of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim parents.<\/p>\n<p>The index also reportedly found that 57% of Americans feel that \u201creligious freedom is inherently public,\u201d believing that people should be free to share their faith in public spaces. The Daily Wire notes that this follows guidance issued by the Trump administration last year that permitted federal workers to share their religious beliefs with their coworkers.\n<\/p>\n<p>The index also found that 47% of Americans believe Christian counselors should have the right to lead children away from transgenderism. 58% say creatives should not be forced to create products that go against their personal beliefs, and 65% approve of a recent Supreme Court decision in which the majority sided with a Catholic charity in Wisconsin that had been unfairly taxed.\n<\/p>\n<p>It is encouraging to see that Americans, especially younger Americans, are so supportive of religious freedom.
