{"id":17026,"date":"2026-01-24T10:20:39","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T10:20:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=17026"},"modified":"2026-01-24T10:20:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T10:20:39","slug":"first-arrests-made-following-st-paul-church-attack-more-to-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=17026","title":{"rendered":"First Arrests Made Following St. Paul Church Attack, &#8216;More to Come&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n              <span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time:<\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>(The Center Square)\u00a0\u2013 Federal officials have made three arrests in connection with a protest that disrupted a Sunday morning church service in St. Paul.\n<\/p>\n<h4>This content is supported by your donations.<br \/>Give today.<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi made two of the announcements Thursday morning, with a third announced Thursday afternoon.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, we have arrested Nekima Levy Armstrong, who allegedly played a key role in organizing the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota,\u201d Bondi\u00a0<strong>said<\/strong>\u00a0on social media. \u201cListen loud and clear: WE DO NOT TOLERATE ATTACKS ON PLACES OF WORSHIP.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Just minutes later, Bondi announced the arrest of Chauntyll Louisa Allen. She promised \u201cmore to come.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>At 1 p.m.,\u00a0Bondi\u00a0<strong>announced<\/strong> a third arrest of William Kelly.\n<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong is a civil rights lawyer who is accused of helping organize the protest. Allen is the clerk of the St. Paul Board of Education. Kelly was one of the protestors at the church and posted a number of videos on his social media from the protest that later went viral.\n<\/p>\n<p>The arrests were made by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the investigative branch of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.\n<\/p>\n<p>This comes following widespread\u00a0<strong>calls<\/strong>\u00a0for arrests in the wake of the protest, which quickly captured attention far beyond Minnesota.\n<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the protest, which was organized in part by members of Black Lives Matter Minnesota.\n<\/p>\n<p>Video posted by the group shows protesters chanting \u201cICE out\u201d and \u201cjustice for Renee Good\u201d during the service at Cities Church. Another video circulating on social media shows Kelly calling congregants \u201cpretend Christians\u201d and \u201ccomfortable white people.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Caleb Phillips, a congregant at the church, told The Center Square in an\u00a0<strong>exclusive interview<\/strong>\u00a0that the protestors were seated throughout the congregation before the service began.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire congregation came alive. Individuals who are planted from front to back throughout the entire place stood up,\u201d Phillips said. \u201cIt felt like we were surrounded, because they were all throughout the congregation.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Reports allege the protesters discovered one of the church\u2019s pastors works for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, calling the protest a \u201cclandestine mission.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The protest comes in the wake of the Jan. 7 killing of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good during an encounter with ICE officers conducting enhanced immigration enforcement.\n<\/p>\n<p>Charges have not yet been announced.\n<\/p>\n<h4>Share your prayers for justice below.<\/h4>\n<p><em>This article was originally published at The Center Square.
