It is a living connection with a hearing, prayer-answering God. That shared conviction drew believers from near and far to the Amazing Facts Summit “Teach Us to Pray: Experience the Power,” held January 16 to 18, 2026.

Hosted by Amazing Facts International in conjunction with the Granite Bay Hilltop Church, the summit took place at the W.O.R.D. Center in Granite Bay, California. Hundreds attended in person, while thousands more around the world joined through the live broadcast.

A Weekend of Renewal

From the opening session, the atmosphere was reverent and expectant. Attendees described the weekend as deeply spiritual and personally transformative.

One couple drove four hours to attend. “We needed this so badly,” they said. “Everyone is crying out for authentic Christianity, where we are really plugged in to the power of God. Amazing Facts is addressing that and showing us just how practical a walk with God can be.”

“People are hungry for communion with God.”

Attendance far exceeded expectations, both in person and online. “I was surprised that so many came,” said Pastor Doug Batchelor, president. “I didn’t expect so many would come to a weekend about prayer, but it’s clear that people are hungry to have better communion with God.”

Biblical Foundations for Powerful Prayer

Each session was carefully designed to help participants understand the purpose, power, and peace found in prayer. Speakers emphasized humility, sincerity, obedience, and alignment with God’s will as essential foundations of an effective prayer life.

Pastor Doug presented the biblical basics of prayer, offering a simple acronym to help attendees remember key principles:

Purpose—know why you pray and what you are asking God to do.

Regularly—set aside daily time to communicate with God.

Accountability—pray with others and for others.

Yielding—surrender yourself completely to God.

Earnestness—pray from the heart with passion.

Recognition—remember that your blessings come from God and thank Him.

Different Styles, One Message

Elder Jerry Page, retired General Conference ministerial director, spoke on the importance of cultivating a personal prayer life. His quiet, heartfelt messages were filled with stories of answered prayer and encouraged attendees to prioritize daily time with God through prayer and Bible study.

Jerry reminded listeners: “Not a pause for a moment in His presence, but personal contact with Christ, to sit down in companionship with Him—this is our need” (Education, p. 261).

“I don’t understand how everything works in the great controversy between Christ and Satan,” he also said. “But it is clear that God has limited Himself to our prayers in some sense. If we want to see God at work in the lives of our families and churches, then we must take time to intercede for them.”

International evangelist and Bible teacher Elder Randy Skeete approached the subject from a complementary perspective, emphasizing God’s desire to communicate with His people while underscoring the biblical conditions for answered prayer.

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18 KJV), he reminded attendees. His messages, rich with Scripture, both encouraged and challenged listeners to pursue a closer, more obedient walk with God.

Reflecting on the balance between the speakers, Pastor Doug said, “I thought it was neat the way that Pastor Jerry and Pastor Randy’s presentations came from different perspectives, but they both covered things that people needed to hear. Jerry spoke more about the relationship inherent in prayer, and Randy spoke about the importance of submission and obedience for answered prayer.”

Prayer in Action

Throughout the weekend, engagement was deeply personal. Attendees brought written prayer requests, placing them into prayer baskets as acts of faith and trust. Speakers and guests prayed together, seeking God’s intervention in families, churches, and personal lives.

On Sabbath morning, the chapel filled as participants united in prayer, lifting their voices together. Fellowship continued between sessions as attendees shared meals, conversations, and testimonies of faith.

Many participants chose to extend their weekend, returning early Sunday morning for additional instruction on effective prayer. “We expected fewer than a hundred people to return on Sunday morning for the additional sessions, so we set up to meet in the chapel,” Pastor Doug said. “But they kept pouring in, and we had to move to the sanctuary. Our media team had to scramble to set up to live-stream the event!”

A Lasting Impact

For those who attended—both in person and online—the Amazing Facts prayer summit was more than a weekend gathering. It was a renewed call to make prayer the lifeline of the Christian walk.

Rooted in Scripture and practiced in community, the summit reminded believers that prayer is not merely spoken words, but a living conversation with God—one that has the power to transform lives, one prayer at a time.

Watch the Teach Us to Pray: Experience the Power Summit archives here!

Make plans now to attend Amazing Facts’ next summit on April 3–4, 2026:

HIS STORY: Biblical Archaeology Summit

Your Next Read

        Knives Over Forks—Really?

Watch the archives here!
