Last year, in the lead-up to Virginia\u2019s gubernatorial election, then-candidate Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat, was billed as a moderate, bipartisan candidate who would resist the far left as much as the far right. Now that she\u2019s in office and the Virginia Democrats\u2019 legislative agenda has been revealed, it\u2019s clear that she\u2019s just as extreme as her far-left counterparts in California.\n<\/p>\n

The\u00a0legislative agenda\u00a0now being advanced by\u00a0Democrats in the General Assembly\u00a0is not by any means a moderate agenda. It is not a centrist agenda. It is not a pragmatic agenda. It is a radical leftist agenda, clearly aligned with priorities laid out by Democrat leadership in Richmond.\n<\/p>\n

Spanberger\u2019s\u00a0agenda\u00a0also includes new restrictions on free speech near abortion clinics, taxpayer-funded education for illegal aliens, eliminating mandatory minimum sentences, lowering the criminal penalties for robbery, and potentially eliminating Virginia\u2019s right-to-work protections.\n<\/p>\n

Spanberger also wants to change the way elections are administered in Virginia. She wants to\u00a0extend\u00a0the time absentee ballots can be received and counted after Election Day, extend the deadline for ballot curing, ban the hand counting of machine-readable paper ballots, allow people to cast votes electronically, and\u00a0add Virginia\u00a0to the National Popular Vote Compact, which destroys the Founders\u2019 vision for the Electoral College.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Wire article, former Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin left a $2.7 billion budget surplus behind. That didn\u2019t stop Governor Spanberger, however, from immediately pursuing higher taxes on income, investments, landscaping equipment, food deliveries, and hotel stays.\n<\/p>\n

As the author of the Daily Wire article points out, this switch-up isn\u2019t an accident, it was intentional. Governor Spanberger, the author alleges, never truly intended to govern as a moderate. Rather, she branded herself as a moderate to win the election, only to drop the act as soon as she was in office.\n<\/p>\n

And this problem, according to the author, goes far beyond just Governor Spanberger. The agenda being pushed in Virginia now is the same agenda we\u2019ve seen nationwide. Governor Spanberger isn\u2019t the first Democrat to run as a moderate and govern as a hardcore leftist, and she definitely won\u2019t be the last.\n<\/p>\n

As the left continues to advance harmful, dangerous policies, let\u2019s pray. Let\u2019s pray that Democratic leaders would be willing to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans to make our nation better!\n<\/p>\n
