{"id":18302,"date":"2026-02-10T01:51:53","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T01:51:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=18302"},"modified":"2026-02-10T01:51:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T01:51:53","slug":"lawmakers-say-trump-is-delivering-on-law-and-order-as-crime-plummets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=18302","title":{"rendered":"Lawmakers Say Trump Is Delivering on \u2018Law and Order\u2019 as Crime Plummets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n              <span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time:<\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 3<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the wake of new crime data, Republicans in Congress are telling The Daily Signal that President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0is delivering on his \u201claw and order\u201d promises.\n<\/p>\n<h4>This content is supported by your donations.<br \/>Give today.<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At Thursday\u2019s White House press briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt discussed new findings from the\u00a0Council on Criminal Justice\u00a0that showed that the nationwide\u00a0murder rate\u00a0has dropped to its lowest number since 1900.\n<\/p>\n<p>Overall, violent crime has reached levels last seen in 2019, when Trump\u2019s first administration enacted similar policies to fight crime, the report noted.\n<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, told The Daily Signal the president\u2019s \u201crespect for law and order\u201d is \u201csaving American lives,\u201d stating that this is a reversal from the \u201clast four years of lawlessness.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetween the apprehension and deportation of illegal criminals as well as a renewed focus on safety in American cities, lives are being saved,\u201d Lee added.\n<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, told The Daily Signal, \u201cThe historic decline in\u00a0crime\u00a0across the country is a direct result of President Trump\u2019s strong law-and-order agenda and decisive border policies, which empower our patriotic men and women in law enforcement to do their jobs effectively.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Minnesota Gov. Tim] Walz should take note of what real leadership looks like,\u201d Roy added.\n<\/p>\n<p>Rep.\u00a0Andy Barr, R-Ky., who pledged to continue to fight with Trump \u201cside-by-side\u201d in \u201cbacking the blue, deporting criminal illegals, and securing our border,\u201d told The Daily Signal that \u201ccrime is coming down because President Trump is the law-and-order president.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The president has mobilized federal law enforcement agencies at the beginning of his second term to help lower crime in American cities.\n<\/p>\n<p>Republicans believe the Trump administration\u2019s attention to crime is the main driver behind murders plummeting by 21% since 2024, carjackings dropping by 61% since 2023, and shoplifting\u2019s 10% decline since 2024.\n<\/p>\n<p>One of the American cities highlighted in the report was Atlanta, which saw an\u00a0increased presence\u00a0of federal law enforcement in 2025. According to the report, the murder rate has dropped by 14% since 2024.\n<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., who\u00a0urged\u00a0Trump to increase federal law enforcement presence in Atlanta last year, told The Daily Signal that the president is \u201ccommitted\u201d to preventing another \u201cLaken Riley\u201d by \u201crestoring law and order.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal immigrant while at the University of Georgia in 2024.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis successful federal interventions speak for themselves,\u201d Carter added. \u201cAtlanta, under Democrat leadership, continues to battle a migrant crime problem.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Another key city mentioned in the report was Richmond, Virginia, which saw a 59% drop in homicide rates since 2024. Former Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican,\u00a0welcomed\u00a0immigration law enforcement\u00a0in the state\u00a0in 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Abigail Spanberger, however, has directed local law enforcement to\u00a0severely reduce\u00a0collaboration with federal law enforcement.\n<\/p>\n<p>The lead researcher from the report, Ernesto Lopez, described the overall drop in crime, specifically homicide, as \u201cwelcome news,\u201d and noted that the homicide rate spiked significantly in 2020.\n<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Leavitt told reporters that \u201cunder President Trump in 2025 the Federal Bureau of Investigation increased violent crime arrest by 100% compared to the prior year.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI also conducted more than 67,000 arrests in the past year, which she mentioned is 197% more than in the previous year,\u201d Leavitt added.\n<\/p>\n<p>Leavitt also noted that the FBI has also disrupted 1800 gangs and criminal enterprises, which marks a 200% increase from 2024, and arrested 1,700 child predators and more than 300 human traffickers across the country.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI has also arrested 6 out of 10 of the FBI\u2019s most wanted,\u201d Leavitt claimed.\n<\/p>\n<h4>Share your praises and prayers in the comments below.<\/h4>\n<p><em>This article was originally published at The Daily Signal.
