GIDEON DEFEATS THE MIDIANITES\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Jdg 7:1<\/em>Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon ) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod. The camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:2<\/em>The LORD said to Gideon, \u201cYou have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her,\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:3<\/em>announce now to the people, \u2018Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.\u2019 \u201d So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:4<\/em>But the LORD said to Gideon, \u201cThere are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say, \u2018This one shall go with you,\u2019 he shall go; but if I say, \u2018This one shall not go with you,\u2019 he shall not go.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:5<\/em>So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, \u201cSeparate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:6<\/em>Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:7<\/em>The LORD said to Gideon, \u201cWith the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Jdg 7:8<\/em>So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred, who took over the provisions and trumpets of the others. Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.<\/em><\/p>\n I love, love, love this story because God ensured that nobody would get the credit but Him. Are you in a situation where you are outnumbered and there is no physical way to win or overcome the situation? I have good news. Pray to God that He will get the credit for the victory that is impossible by man\u2019s standards! Praise Him for who He is and who He is calling you to be: a warrior of faith, my friend.<\/p>\n \u201cThank You, Father, that despite the seemingly impossible situation before me \u2013 that You are the God of all possibilities.
