But when you start to reflect on what’s being said and pause to see how it relates to you, suddenly you’re in so much deeper.

The SOAP way of reading is a unique and organized way to study the Bible.

SOAP is an acronym that stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer.

Here’s a breakdown of each step:

1. Scripture: Start by choosing a specific part of the Bible to focus on. It could be a verse, a paragraph, or a longer passage. Read it carefully and think about what it means.

2. Observation: Take some time to think about the passage. Ask yourself questions like: What does it say? What are the main ideas? Are there any repeated words or phrases? Who is talking or being talked to? Consider the historical and cultural context as well. Try to notice the important details

3. Application: Now think about how the passage can apply to your own life. Ask yourself questions like: How does it relate to what I’m going through? What can I learn from it? Are there any actions or changes I need to make? Think about how you can put the teachings into practice.

4. Prayer: Finally, respond to the passage in prayer. Talk to God about what you’ve read and the insights you’ve gained. Share your thoughts, feelings, and desires with Him. You can thank Him, ask for forgiveness, seek guidance, or express any other thoughts or emotions that come to mind.

Happy Sabbath!

#christian #God #jesus #faith #bibleverse #biblestudy #christianity #gospel #jesuschrist #fypシ #adventistbookcentre

source

Screenshot this for later!
