And, as nuclear talks between the two nations continue, a former senior Pentagon official has confirmed that the U.S. is ready for a \u201csustained, highly kinetic campaign\u201d against Iran.\n<\/p>\n<p>From Fox News:<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Dana Stroul, now research director at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, made the assessment Sunday as Washington and Tehran prepare for a second round of indirect nuclear talks in Oman.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. military is ready for a sustained, highly kinetic campaign should President Trump order it, and also prepared to defend allies and partners in the Middle East from Iran\u2019s missiles,\u201d Stroul told Fox News Digital.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. military can rapidly reposition assets from all over the world and deploy overwhelmingly lethal force in a short period of time to one theater,\u201d she said before highlighting how there is \u201cno ally or enemy capable of what we have seen from the U.S. in this\u00a0current buildup.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This comes amid increased tensions between Washington and Tehran. Nuclear negotiations are set to continue on February 26. According to Stroul, Iran is trying to balance brinkmanship with negotiation, \u201cstaging preparations and exercises to signal readiness.\u201d Indeed, the Islamic nation implicitly threatened the United States last week, possibly attempting to intimidate our leaders in the midst of tense negotiations.\n<\/p>\n<p>President Trump, meanwhile, has not shied away from conflict. He previously said that, if the United States\u2019 demands are not met, \u201cwe\u2019ll find out\u201d if a U.S. strike would start a regional war. Also, as IFA covered on Saturday, he recently gave Iran just over two weeks to reach a deal or face \u201cunfortunate\u201d consequences.\n<\/p>\n<p>We seem to be on the verge of dangerous conflict.
