{"id":19945,"date":"2026-02-26T05:15:05","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T05:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=19945"},"modified":"2026-02-26T05:15:05","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T05:15:05","slug":"investigation-launched-into-fire-at-west-london-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=19945","title":{"rendered":"Investigation launched into fire at west London church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                            <span>Firefighters on the scene at King&#8217;s Hall Methodist Church in Southall.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">\u00a0(Photo: London Fire Brigade)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Investigators are working to uncover the cause of a huge fire that tore through a derelict Methodist church in west London on Sunday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Around 70 firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze at King&#8217;s Hall Methodist Church in Southall after being alerted by members of the public at around 9:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the height of the fire, most of the ground floor, second floor and roof were alight,\u201d London Fire Brigade said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The flames were brought under control by 12.30am.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The fire has left the historic Grade II listed church severely damaged.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire has not yet been established.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Road closures along South Road between Park Road and High Street remained in place on Monday morning as investigations continue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The church was designed by architect Sir Alfred Gelder and completed in 1916 before closing in 2013.
