Democrat\u00a0Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania\u00a0has a high approval rating among Republicans and low approval among Democrats in his home state, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.<\/p>\n

The swing state lawmaker has regularly departed from the Democrat caucus in the Senate, and has criticized fellow Democrats\u2019 stances\u00a0on Israel,\u00a0immigration, and government funding.\n<\/p>\n

According to the poll, a whopping 73% of Pennsylvania Republicans approved \u201cof the way John Fetterman is handling his job as United States Senator.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

A mere 18% of Republicans disapproved of the Democrat senator\u2019s performance and 9% did not know or did not answer.\n<\/p>\n

With Democrats, the picture is flipped. Only 22% of Democrats approved of Fetterman\u2019s performance, and 62% disapproved. 15% did not know or chose not to answer.\n<\/p>\n

Fetterman told The Daily Signal in the U.S. Capitol on Thursday that he had not seen the poll and that \u201cmy votes and my values are pretty much consistent and it\u2019s never based on polls.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Fetterman has split from fellow Democrat senators to\u00a0vote for Republican-backed funding bills\u00a0to keep federal departments operating.\n<\/p>\n

Fetterman has also voted to confirm\u00a0members of President Trump\u2019s cabinet, such as Kristi Noem of the Department of Homeland Security and\u00a0Attorney General Pam Bondi.\n<\/p>\n

He has, however, sided with Democrats in opposing the majority of Trump\u2019s cabinet picks. He also voted against\u00a0the One Big Beautiful Bill Act\u00a0as well as a bill rescinding funding of foreign aid and public broadcasting.\n<\/p>\n

Shutting DHS down has zero impact and zero changes for ICE.\n<\/p>\n

ICE already has $75B in funding from the BBB that I did not vote for.\n<\/p>\n

But it will hit FEMA, Coast Guard, TSA and our Cybersecurity Agency.\n<\/p>\n

Fetterman roughly split independents, 48% of whom approved, and 37% of whom disapproved of his performance.\u00a015% did not know or did not answer.\n<\/p>\n

Overall, 46% of respondents approved of\u00a0his job performance\u00a0and 40% disapproved, with 14% not knowing or choosing not to answer.\n<\/p>\n

The survey questioned\u00a0\u201c836 self-identified registered voters\u201d from Feb. 19 to Feb. 23 and has a margin of error of 4.7 percentage points.\n<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Fetterman\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Signal on the survey\u2019s results.\n<\/p>\n
