Church tradition tells us Peter was executed in Rome under Emperor Nero, and this letter serves as his farewell message to the churches he loved. In it, he warns against corrupt leaders twisting the truth and calls believers back to confidence in God\u2019s promises and holy living. The central theme? God loves His world and is determined to rescue it. But His love must also confront and deal with the sin and evil that ruin His creation. In 2 Peter, we\u2019re reminded that God\u2019s plan for His people isn\u2019t comfort or ease\u2014it\u2019s transformation into the likeness of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, we\u2019ll walk through 2 Peter 1, where Peter calls us to: confirm our calling and election through growth in faith and virtue, pay careful attention to God\u2019s Word as a lamp in the darkness, and remember that true knowledge of God leads to grace, peace, and fruitfulness.
