Numbers 19:1-21:35<\/strong><\/span>

Today i<\/span><\/span>n Numbers chapter 20 verse 12 we read about God pronouncing that Moses & Aaron would not enter the Promised Land \u2013 \u201cBut the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, \u201cBecause you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!\u201d\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Why did this happen?\u00a0 Well, it\u2019s best to stick with Scripture \u2013 God says that Moses & Aaron did not trust God enough.\u00a0 They did not trust God enough to demonstrate his holiness to the people of Israel.\u00a0 Thus they will not lead them into the Promised Land.\u00a0 Where was the lack of trust?\u00a0 \u00a0Go back to verse 8 and you\u2019ll see God tell Moses to \u201ccommand the rock\u201d for water \u2013 command meaning verbally\u2026 then in verse 11 we see Moses strike the rock twice \u2013 not using the verbal command God instructed him on, but using an action.\u00a0 \u00a0There also may have been a pride issue when Moses in verse 10 says \u201cmust we bring you water from this rock?\u201d\u00a0 You\u2019ll notice the little word WE \u2013 We being Moses & Aaron? -this is probably not the way to best recognize God for God bringing water out of the rock\u2026\u00a0 It looks like Moses is taking credit.\u00a0 \u00a0How about us in our lives today?\u00a0 Are there times when we disobey God\u2019s direct commands to us?\u00a0 Are there times when we take credit for God\u2019s work?\u00a0 Even if we generally follow God\u2019s instructions \u2013 as Moses clearly does for the majority of his life \u2013 should we be on constant watch that we do not disobey God?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
