{"id":24336,"date":"2026-03-30T08:19:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T08:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=24336"},"modified":"2026-03-30T08:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T08:19:08","slug":"march-30th-chronological-bible-readings-chronological-bible-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=24336","title":{"rendered":"March 30th Chronological Bible Readings \u2013 Chronological Bible Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Joshua 22:1-24:33<\/strong><\/span><br \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">~ Click here to read today\u2019s Scripture on Bible Gateway ~<\/span><\/em><br \/><span><em>~ Listen to today\u2019s Scripture with <\/em><em>The ESV Bible<\/em><\/span> ~<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>In Joshua chapter 22 verse 10 today we read:<em> \u201cReuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh built a very large altar near the Jordan River at a place called Geliloth.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 The place where our readings end today in verse 20 is quite a cliff-hanger!\u00a0 Note that verse 20 is not the end of chapter 22, and as Paul Harvey says, further on in today\u2019s readings you will get \u201cThe Rest of the Story.\u201d\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><br \/><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>Today we finish up the book of Joshua!\u00a0 What a book.\u00a0 I have definitely learned much from this book this year.\u00a0 And today\u2019s readings are no exception.\u00a0 Chapter 24 is a wonderful closing to this book where the Israelites renew their covenant with God.\u00a0 Verses 25 through 27 are awesome \u2013 <em>\u201cSo Joshua made a covenant with the people that day at Shechem, committing them to a permanent and binding contract between themselves and the LORD. Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. As a reminder of their agreement, he took a huge stone and rolled it beneath the oak tree beside the Tabernacle of the LORD.\u00a0 Joshua said to all the people, \u201cThis stone has heard everything the LORD said to us. It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God.\u201d<\/em><\/span><br \/><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>It\u2019s great to read verse 32 and realize that Joseph\u2019s wishes from 200 years earlier of being buried in the Promised Land came to fruition!\u00a0 It is amazing to realize the Israelites carried Joseph\u2019s bones with them throughout the 40 years in the desert to fulfill this wish \u2013\u00a0 <em>\u201cThe bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought along with them when they left Egypt, were buried at Shechem, in the parcel of ground Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor for one hundred pieces of silver.\u00a0 This land was located in the territory allotted to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, the descendants of Joseph.\u201d<\/em><\/span><br \/><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: black\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Worship Video:<\/strong> Today\u2019s readings remind me of Tasha Layton\u2019s terrific song \u201cNever:\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Will God ever let you down?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Click here for Never!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span><strong>Please join us in memorizing and meditating on a verse of Scripture today:<\/strong> <em>\u201cBe very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.\u201d<\/em> Joshua 23:6 NIV<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span><strong>Prayer Point:<\/strong> Pray that you are carefully obeying the LORD. Pray that you never turn aside to the right or the left of the LORD\u2019s Word, the Bible.
