In fact, he\u2019s spent a great deal of his ministry not only confronting the demonic realm but also helping Christians understand how it operates in the modern era.<\/p>\n
And yet, some churches refuse to explore these issues deeply, failing to discuss how they work today. Signorelli told CBN News there\u2019s a disconnect, though, because \u201cculture is having the conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n
WATCH: STREAM CBN\u2019S NEW DOCUMENTARY \u2018INVESTIGATING THE Metaphysical: ANGELS AND DEMONS\u2019 RIGHT NOW<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cRight now it\u2019s a trending topic,\u201d he said of evil. \u201cPeople are unfortunately being exposed for doing some of the most heinous things imaginable, and I think that oftentimes there\u2019s a disconnect between the conversation happening in culture and what the pastor is willing to talk about from the pulpit.\u201d<\/p>\n Some of this is rooted in ignorance regarding the topic, though Signorelli made a compelling point: it\u2019s tough to dismiss the reality of spiritual warfare when reading the New Testament narrative.<\/p>\n \u201cI think culture is confirming that this topic is needed,\u201d he said, going on to note one of the other reasons some pastors stay silent. \u201cOther than ignorance \u2026 sometimes it\u2019s a level of compromise. \u2026 You\u2019ll find that people often shy away from something that they feel may unintentionally reveal something in their life.\u201d<\/p>\n Signorelli continued, \u201cWhen you audit the topics being discussed in the pulpit, oftentimes pastors will avoid things that they\u2019re explicitly involved in, and, so, when you start talking about the demonic, you have to talk about \u2014 \u2018Where did the door open? Why is there demonic activity,\u2019 which then leads to a sin conversation, and then, of course, when you deal with sin, you might be dealing with some things close to home.\u201d<\/p>\n Ultimately, Signorelli said that a focus on these issues might force a pastor to do a \u201cdeep inventory\u201d in life \u2014 something that\u2019s needed for every human being.<\/p>\n When it comes to deliverance, the prayerful process of freeing a person from the demonic realm, Signorelli said he\u2019s learned some powerful lessons.<\/p>\n \u201cOne time, I was casting demons out of a woman. As a matter of fact, she came forward for prayer and didn\u2019t even ask for deliverance,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then all of a sudden this demon started to manifest, and I cast the demon out, and then the woman went completely limp.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, everyone assumed a spiritual healing had taken place, but Signorelli felt something was off.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, \u2018No, that demon\u2019s lying. The demon\u2019s still there,’\u201d he recalled. \u201cI spoke to the demon. I said, \u2018No, I know there\u2019s still a demon in there. \u2026 You\u2019re not deceiving me,\u2019 and as soon as I said that this woman\u2019s head recoiled with this crazy, evil-sounding laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n The moment was so shocking that everyone in the room jumped back. Signorelli said everything went from \u201cshe\u2019s delivered\u201d to \u201cOh, no,\u201d as people realized there was still work to do.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like a movie moment,\u201d he said. \u201cI finished the deliverance, and cast that demon out, and took authority over the spirit.
