\u201cThen you will say, \u2018And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?\u2019 Then the King will say, \u2018I\u2019m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was Me \u2013 you did it to Me.’\u201d<\/em> -Matthew 25:39&40<\/p>\n Have you ever done something kind for a stranger? In our modern world, we often fear getting close to people we don\u2019t know, and perhaps for good reason (\u201cstranger, danger!\u201d) Technology, for all it\u2019s good uses, has had quite an isolating effect on us compared to life in the 1950s and 1960s. During that time, many folks hung out on porches and were more involved in their communities. (Bingo, anyone?)<\/p>\n Today, it takes more of a conscious effort to talk to someone we do not know. But, doing something kind for someone can be the greatest open door for sharing Jesus\u2019 message of salvation.<\/p>\n \u201cOr do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God\u2019s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?\u201d -Romans 2:4<\/p>\n What can we do to be kind? Whether it\u2019s making a homemade meal for someone, serving in a shelter, or opening a door for someone, each of these things can be open doors for God\u2019s kingdom. It\u2019s not uncommon for my husband to go above and beyond to help someone with their car at his job, or to help someone outside his job if they have car trouble. Even if we are providing for someone\u2019s basic needs, this act of kindness still has supernatural value in God\u2019s kingdom.<\/p>\n When was the last time you did something kind for someone? Has it been a while?
