Since the start of Operation Epic Fury, the Trump administration has defined its objectives as destroying Iran\u2019s navy, ending its missile production capacity, breaking up its support for regional proxies, and preventing it from attaining a nuclear weapon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion,\u201d Trump said on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The National Pulse was more specific, quoting the President as saying there will only be \u201ctwo to three weeks\u201d more of military activity.\n<\/p>\n

According to the Times, President Trump also announced that the U.S. is monitoring Iran\u2019s nuclear sites, threatened to hit energy plants if a deal isn\u2019t reached, and reassured Americans that the Strait of Hormuz will open again once the fighting ends.\n<\/p>\n

Many Americans have worried about the Strait of Hormuz, as Iran\u2019s closure of the critical oil route has caused gas prices to spike. During his address, however, the President spoke to these concerns, announcing that the U.S. is now producing \u201cmore oil and gas than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of our \u2018Drill Baby Drill\u2019 program, America has plenty of gas,\u201d President Trump said. \u201cUnder\u00a0my leadership, we are the number one producer of oil and gas on the planet \u2014 without even discussing the millions of barrels that we\u2019re getting from Venezuela.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of the Trump administration\u2019s policies, we produce more oil and gas than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined,\u201d the president added. \u201cThere\u2019s no country like us anywhere in the world, and we\u2019re in great shape for the future.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Trump went on to say that \u201cthe United States imports almost no oil\u201d through the\u00a0Strait of Hormuz, \u201cand won\u2019t be taking any in the future.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
