Its observance reminds us that the fight for freedom and the battle against oppression, waged by Jews throughout their history, is one of which all free people are a part,\u201d\u00a0stated Reagan.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeginning today and culminating on Sunday morning, Christians will celebrate with their families the resurrection of Christ, His victory over death. We will remember that He gave His body and His blood \u2014 washing clean the faults and the shortcomings of the world. In our rejoicing, we will renew the hope that is ours through the risen Lord.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bill Clinton \u2013 1996<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>A few months after the famous\u00a0Blizzard of \u201996\u00a0dumped 1 to 2 feet of snow over much of the Eastern United States, President Bill Clinton issued a message on observing Easter, noting that \u201cthe Resurrection of Jesus\u201d is the \u201ccentral event\u201d of Christianity.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis holy day marks that moment in time when good conquered evil, hope overcame despair, and life triumphed over death,\u201d\u00a0Clinton said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust as spring brings warmth and beauty to the earth after a harsh winter, Easter brings joy and new life to the spirit, reminding us that no mistake or failing of the past can put us beyond the reach of God\u2019s mercy.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Clinton went on to note that \u201cEaster\u2019s timeless message strengthens us for the tasks before us\u201d and that \u201cwe remember that our lives have great purpose and value.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>George W. Bush \u2013 2003<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>President George W. Bush issued an Easter\u00a0message\u00a0that called the observance \u201cthe most important event of the Christian faith.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor Christians, the life and death of Jesus are the ultimate expressions of love, and the supreme demonstrations of God\u2019s mercy, faithfulness and redemption,\u201d stated Bush.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince Christ\u2019s miraculous Resurrection on Easter, more than 2,000 years ago, Christians have expressed joy and gratitude for this wondrous sacrifice and for God\u2019s promise of freedom for the oppressed, healing for the brokenhearted, and salvation.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Issued about a month after the United States led a coalition of nations to invade Iraq and topple the Saddam Hussein regime, Bush noted that while \u201cthis year\u2019s observance comes at a time when our world faces many challenges, the message of Easter remains unchanged.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barack Obama \u2013 2016<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, during his last full year in office, President Barack Obama\u00a0released\u00a0an Easter statement in which he noted that he and his wife \u201cjoin our fellow Christians in observing Good Friday and celebrating Easter this weekend.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a time to remember the sacrifices made for us and hold all who suffer close to our hearts,\u201d stated Obama.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYet it is also a time to rejoice, give thanks for the Resurrection, and unite with Christians around the world in proclaiming, \u2018Christ has risen; He has risen indeed.\u201d We wish all who celebrate a blessed and joyful Easter.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donald Trump \u2013 2020<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>As the nation locked down in response to COVID-19, President Donald Trump issued an Easter message, noting that \u201cthis year\u2019s observance of Easter comes during a somber time for our Nation.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our Nation has faced the unique challenges posed by the coronavirus during the past few weeks, we have turned to God for guidance, comfort, and hope. Throughout this difficult period, we have witnessed the core tenets of Christianity\u2014love, compassion, and kindness\u2014reflected in the many acts of courage, generosity, and caring of the American people,\u201d\u00a0Trump said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter the circumstances, we will always celebrate Easter as a time of rejuvenation, rebirth, and a renewed sense of purpose and faith. The coronavirus will not stop Easter.\u00a0 Even in the darkest hours, God\u2019s abundant love and mercy are unwavering.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joe Biden \u2013 2022<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>[In 2022], President Joe Biden released a\u00a0statement\u00a0on Easter in which the current commander-in-chief noted that \u201cHoly Week has taken us on a journey from sorrow to salvation.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we reflect today on Christ\u2019s Resurrection, we are reminded that with faith, hope, and love \u2014 even death can be defeated,\u201d stated Biden.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, as we emerge from this pandemic, we are grateful that so many are able to celebrate this day of joy and renewal with services and family gatherings in person and together again.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Biden went on to state that he sought \u201ca common hope for the future, reaffirm love and compassion for one another, and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donald Trump \u2013 2026<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>This year, President Trump and his administration have proven to be speak the most about their faith in Jesus Christ, and the pattern continues. On Ash Wednesday, President Trump said, \u201cAbove all, as we prepare for the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday\u2014the greatest miracle in the history of mankind\u2014we pause to remember those sacred words:\u00a0 \u201cThis is the time of fulfillment. \u00a0The Kingdom of God is at hand.
