April 8, 2026<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019re More of a \u201cMorning Person\u201d Than You Think<\/strong><\/span> Lee en espa\u00f1ol<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBecause of the LORD\u2019s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.\u201d Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)<\/em><\/p>\n You might not believe this, but you\u2019re more of a \u201cmorning person\u201d than you think.<\/p>\n I get why that can be hard to believe. For years, I thought morning people were shiny Christians who leapt out of bed like Disney princesses, hit the gym, exegeted Leviticus, and ironed their bedsheets \u2014 all before 7 a.m. Meanwhile, the rest of us wake up with hair sticking out in seven different directions and a morning routine that Instagram filters can\u2019t fix.<\/p>\n Some mornings feel rushed and noisy. Some start with a knot of dread because of what the day holds, or what it might not hold<\/em> anymore. That\u2019s how I felt after my dad passed away. Mornings felt like an alarm set by a broken heart. His absence was palpable morning by morning. And mourning<\/em> by mourning.<\/em><\/p>\n That season shook something loose in me. I began to ponder life\u2019s brevity. I didn\u2019t want to miss the miracle of each new morning. I wanted to be the kind of woman who would say, Here it is, Jesus: a whole new day before me. What a gift it is to be alive and start my day with You<\/em>.<\/p>\n Thus began my study of all 200-plus mornings mentioned in Scripture. What I learned blew me away. Immediately, this became clear: God has a soft spot for mornings.<\/p>\n The very first thing God created on earth \u2026 was a morning<\/em>. Morning came into existence with God\u2019s words,\u00a0\u201cLet there be light\u201d<\/em> (Genesis 1:3, NIV).<\/p>\n Morning is also when manna appeared and fed God’s people in the wilderness (Exodus 16:8), when heroes like Joshua and David stepped out in faith (Joshua 3:1; 1 Samuel 17:20), and when psalmists woke up to hope they couldn\u2019t see in the dark (Psalm 30:5).<\/p>\n Our faith hinges on one glorious morning when a stone rolled away and Jesus walked out of His tomb alive!<\/p>\n It turns out God is a morning person. Which means you and I \u2014 created in His image \u2014 are too.<\/p>\n To God, mornings aren\u2019t just a shift from night to day. They\u2019re when He reveals new mercies: \u201cBecause of the LORD\u2019s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness\u201d<\/em> (Lamentations 3:22-23).<\/p>\n These words were written in\u00a0<\/strong>a low moment: Jerusalem was in ruins. Hope felt gone. And yet the author of Lamentations declared, \u201cGod\u2019s mercies are here!\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s the kind of hope we need on hard mornings. It’s not about how disciplined we are. Mornings are daily reminders of how faithful God is.<\/p>\n You don\u2019t need a fancy journal or \u201cperfect\u201d quiet time. Before scrolling, begin with a simple prayer: Good morning, Lord. Thank You for this new day.<\/em><\/p>\n Friend, you woke up into a miracle \u2014 another morning God chose to give you to live, to love, to enjoy.<\/p>\n Father, thank You for the gift of morning. Help us remember that in Your eyes, a morning person isn\u2019t someone who wakes earliest but someone who wakes willing, ready to believe You are already in the room with mercies that never fail.
