On March 31, 2026, IFA Regional Director Lisa Townsend and IFA Louisiana Co-State Leader Janie Harris prayed over five elected officials. Over the years, they have developed a trusted relationship with several of their state\u2019s leaders. They personally know that there are Christians who hold government office. Spirit-filled men and women who love the Lord and serve Him in office. Because of this, they come under spiritual warfare at greater levels than many believers.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

I pray this article encourages you to intercede for your representatives.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI was invited to go and pray for one of my legislators. <\/span>As I was driving, the Lord began to show me things in visions. She had been coming under intense attacks and warfare. The Lord showed me demonic things were happening at the Capitol. The Lord revealed that Freemasons laid the cornerstone of the Capitol. The Lord showed that there were two demonic watchers at the building\u2019s gates, and the roots were in the Freemasons\u2019 cornerstone,<\/span>\u201d Lisa said.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cJ<\/span>anie and I went to the office at 11:30 a.m. When I shared the vision and what the Lord revealed about the Cornerstone, she said it was exactly what another intercessor had told her a week earlier. It was a confirmation to her that there were dark spiritual roots that needed to be confronted.\u201d<\/span>

We prayed for her and her staff. We used the precious blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus, and we bound and forbade the demonic watchers and commanded them to leave. We prayed Psalm 91 over the building, even decreeing over the cornerstone. We prayed a blessing and asked that God\u2019s angels would watch over the place and forbid any familiar spirits connected to Freemasonry from operating, and then we left.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

When we prayed for our legislator, we called upon the Holy Spirit, and He was there. We welcomed His Presence. One of her close relatives was present and asked us to pray for a family member.\u201d<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next day, she texted Lisa, \u201cI feel so good!\u00a0 Today is the first day in two weeks that I have not felt physical pain. I\u2019m so grateful to you and Janie for being there to pray with us.\u201d<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Tangible Warfare<\/span><\/h2>\n

Janie mentioned that earlier that day, when they were invited into the Senate chamber to pray, \u201c<\/span>You could actually feel the tension in the air. I believed it was important to invite the Holy Spirit into that legislative session by reading the IFA proclamation.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Lisa shared that our intercession for our leaders must be constant because the warfare is constant, whether we are aware of it or not. Several legislators and representatives are addressing vital issues, such as Sharia law and the CCP. Because they are fighting on many fronts, including the front lines, their need for prayer is intense.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>These elected leaders need our prayers. Developing these covenant relationships with our elected leaders is such a privilege and honor. It\u2019s an honor to be invited to pray with and for them and witness amazing reports. Do they always turn out amazing at first? No. We had a bad report yesterday on legislation. Janie and I sat in for two hours before I met the legislator, and that vote went badly, leaving a loophole that could allow the stripping of personal property rights.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

In the committee room for the hearing on the vote. I could see the emotion and angst they were dealing with. They love their people and the district they serve. So, reconciling personal feelings and emotions with what they believe is right under the law, how to serve their constituents best. You could see the turmoil over them.\u00a0<\/span>

Janie and I encouraged ourselves. We both believe this exposure had to come so we could deal with that corruption in prayer and see it overturned. If the end is not good, it\u2019s not really the end. Because the end will be good, we believe that God will make a way and overturn this. We will be continuing to intercede over this and not let go. It\u2019s simply a call to persevere.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Janie and I were interceding for them. The spiritual battle our elected leaders are in, whether at the city level, in a region, or as representatives or senators, is massive. They need our prayers<\/span>. <\/span>We really can\u2019t imagine the pressure and the stress our legislators are under during a legislative session,\u201d <\/span>Janie<\/span> said.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

This is your reminder to pray for your leaders by name<\/span>. <\/span>Support them in prayer, as Aaron and Hur lifted Moses\u2019 hands when he was weary on the day of battle. Prayer changes the lives of our leaders. I believe Lisa\u2019s perspective is a nugget of wisdom for intercessors. We will most certainly see injustice in government, in bad legislation. Instead of fretting, we must have a kingdom perspective. Corruption, when exposed, is always good. Not only is it an answer to prayer, but it also invites us to pray more deeply. Secondly, when righteous legislation fails to pass, it isn\u2019t a call to quit, but to persevere.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

More and more across America, intercessors are not only being welcomed into the governmental sphere to pray. Legislators, Representatives, and staff members are stopping in their busy days to thank intercessors for their prayers. They feel the difference after receiving prayer. We know that the difference they feel is a touch of God.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

God cares about our elected officials. People are so quick to judge and slow to pray at times, but they are men and women just like us. They are grandparents, mothers, fathers, husbands, and wives, as well as office holders. We may never know the weight of what they bear, but as intercessors, we are called to bear one another\u2019s burdens, and we can lighten that load as we pray for them.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
