Pageants, free speech attacks, and hailstones\u2013what\u2019s the connection? Unfortunately, they are all part of the latest wave of lies coming from the Left. As Christians, we must filter everything through the lens of discernment, then pray through each and every deception. Never forget that intercession is a powerful weapon.\n<\/p>\n

Who is praying on the wall?<\/h4>\n

Miss America Pageant Forced to Recognize What a Woman Is<\/h2>\n

The first lie told by the Left this week comes with some good news because this lie has now been exposed and overturned. The deception goes all the way back to 2024, when Kayleigh Bush won the title of Miss North Florida, only to be stripped of her crown when she refused to sign a contract that defied biological truth. Specifically, the contract stipulated that she agree with the lie that a \u201cfemale\u201d includes \u201cany male who had completed sex reassignment surgery via vaginoplasty before competing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Liberty Counsel, a national nonprofit litigation, education, and public policy organization with an emphasis on First Amendment liberties, sent a letter to the Miss America pageant on behalf of Kayleigh, explaining that signing the contract infringed on her \u201creligious, scientific, political, and moral beliefs that sex is immutable, and that individuals are born and remain either male or female.\u201d The contract required that \u201cfemale beauty candidates agree to compete against biological males\u2013who have been subjected to medical mutilation as minor boys\u2013and agree that these mutilated males are female.\u201d It should be noted that competitors as young as 14 can participate in the pageant if entering the teen competition.\n<\/p>\n

Initially, the Miss America pageant stuck to its anti-science views and rejected Kayleigh\u2019s request to amend the contract, but now they have changed their stance. According to Liberty Counsel, \u201cthe Miss America Organization has told Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier that the pageant has \u2018altered\u2019 its contract language to clarify what is a woman.\u201d The definition in the original contract had stated that biological males could compete as women in the pageant.\n<\/p>\n

Prior to the organization\u2019s change of heart, however, a letter was sent to the Miss America pageant by Attorney General Uthmeier, \u201ccautioning it may be violating the state\u2019s deceptive advertising law for promoting a female-only competition, but then \u2018surreptitiously\u2019 allowing gender-confused males to compete.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Since that letter, the Miss America pageant has reversed its stance and sided with rationality. They are now defining a \u201cbiological woman\u201d as a person having \u201ctwo X chromosomes.\u201d A woman competing in the pageant must be a naturally born female.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased that Miss America has finally come to its senses and revised its contract to remove the ridiculous statement that a boy can be a girl. A boy cannot be a girl. Miss America now knows what a woman is\u2014a common-sense understanding that Kayleigh Bush knew instinctually. Miss America should now reinstate the benefits of Bush\u2019s crown, including the scholarship that she rightfully deserves,\u201d <\/em>responded Mat Staver, the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel.\n<\/p>\n

Thankfully, this irrational lie was exposed, and the Miss America pageant was forced to admit reality. The enemy wants to attack the God-given identities of males and females, but as intercessors, we must never give up when it comes to praying for truth and justice. Praise the Lord that Kayleigh Bush stood up for what she knew was right in the eyes of God.\n<\/p>\n

Investigative Journalism Under Attack<\/h2>\n

The next lie told by the Left this week is an attack on investigative journalists who want to expose fraud, lies, and corruption. Sacramento, California, is a hub for radical leftists, so it\u2019s no surprise that this move \u201cstraight out of a totalitarian playbook\u201d is based there. WND reports that \u201cthe California Assembly Judiciary Committee voted 11-2 on Monday to advance AB 2624,\u00a0the so-called \u2018Stop Nick Shirley Act,\u2019 a disgusting Democrat power grab designed to make it illegal for brave citizen journalists like Nick Shirley to expose the rampant fraud bleeding American taxpayers dry in immigrant service centers.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

The bill was created by hyper-liberal California Assembly member Mia Bonta and aims to punish investigative reporters with hefty civil sanctions. The minimum fine is $4,000 (but could go higher) if a person being investigated at an immigrant service center (i.e., fake Somali daycares) decides they do not want to be filmed on camera. In this scenario, someone in the middle of committing a fraudulent scam would be protected from being exposed for their crimes.\n<\/p>\n

More specifically, fraudsters could go to court to request an injunction that would ban an investigative journalist from \u201cfilming or exposing them on camera for up to four years.\u201d If the journalist is accused of \u201cdoxing,\u201d or posing as an \u201cimminent threat\u201d because they have exposed the crook publicly, they could face fines of up to $10,000, or even criminal charges.\n<\/p>\n

Assembly Member Carl DeMaio is slamming AB 2624 for the chilling effect it could have on free speech. He dubbed it the \u201cStop Nick Shirley Act\u201d because it would cripple and target independent journalists like Nick Shirley, who have exposed fraud and abuse in government-funded programs through firsthand documentation. DeMaio \u201cwarned the bill would be used to block investigative reporting and intimidate journalists, watchdog groups, and members of the public documenting wrongdoing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

DeMaio stresses that the bill is \u201cnot about public safety\u2013it\u2019s about protecting powerful interests.\u201d He adds, \u201cIf this bill becomes law, the message is clear to every journalist in California: expose corruption and you will be punished. AB 2624 is an unconstitutional direct attack on transparency and the First Amendment \u2013 and it needs to be defeated.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

The Left never wants its lies exposed. That\u2019s why they work so hard to silence those who investigate and report them. We must continue to pray that free speech is protected so the truth will reign, rather than lies and corruption.\n<\/p>\n

Meltdown Over Hailstones<\/h2>\n

The third lie told by the Left this week revolves around a Leftist in Wisconsin who had a major meltdown over hail. Wisconsin Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski posted a video clip on TikTok where she declared, \u201cRepublicans say we don\u2019t have climate change. This is a golf-ball-size hail in my front yard! This is NOT normal! And we can\u2019t keep ignoring our environment.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

The reactions to her video were immediate, with large numbers of people stating that hail, even golf-ball-sized, is in fact normal. Commentator Dan O\u2019Donnell reacted, \u201cDemocrat Secretary of State thinks hail is evidence of climate change. The party of science, ladies and gentlemen.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

One user responded, \u201cI\u2019m pretty sure I have experienced hail nearly every spring I\u2019ve lived in Wisconsin, but maybe I\u2019m the crazy one.\u201d Another person asked, \u201cHail is not normal? Is hail proof of climate change?\u201d One user lamented, \u201cAnd sadly, there are probably people cheering and agreeing with her.\u201d An observant commenter questioned, \u201cWhy don\u2019t we say global warming anymore?\u201d\n<\/p>\n

While Wisconsin did experience a hailstorm on April 14, 2026, there have been very large hailstones recorded in the past. In 1921, the largest hailstone in history was listed as 5.7 inches in diameter. Another hailstone measuring 5.5 inches was documented in 2007. Some of the hailstones recorded during the recent storm measured up to 4 inches in diameter.\n<\/p>\n

Large hailstones can certainly cause damage and even frighten those who find themselves in the path of their fury. But the Left has a habit of taking any kind of turbulent weather and ascribing it to \u201cclimate change.\u201d Unfortunately, the Green Agenda has been used as a means of control, rather than a way to truly help the environment. Many people buy into the climate change lie without questioning the science, or lack of science, behind the movement. As usual, much prayer is needed to bring common sense, rationality, and truth to this issue.\n<\/p>\n

What a week! The lies seem to be spinning out of control, but we know that God Almighty is in control. Lord Jesus, help us to make truth a shining beacon as we squash the lies that are often the size of giant hailstones.\n<\/p>\n
