Do you want dada or pop? Who do you want? Dada or pop?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At that point, it appeared the baby began crying once again, requesting his mother. In response, McAnally said, \u201cThere is no mama. I\u2019m so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recording artist and his partner, Michael Baum, laugh, again telling the baby he has \u201ctwo choices,\u201d neither of whom are a mother. McAnally captioned the Reel, \u201cWho\u2019s gonna tell him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it\u2019s unlikely the baby knows the word for mother, especially given he seemingly has no routine experience with a mother. But it does highlight what many commenters described as \u201cunnatural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By the third trimester, preborn babies already\u00a0recognize their mothers\u2019 voices\u00a0and hear their mothers\u2019 heartbeats. Babies are\u00a0inherently wired\u00a0to seek out care first from their mothers, whom they seek out through scent, sound, and touch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McAnally\u2019s video has racked up thousands of views, comments, and reactions.<\/p>\n<p>One commenter wrote on the Reel, \u201cChildren are not accessories. We have lost our way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPraying for this precious baby,\u201d added another. \u201cThis is not funny.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire\u2019s Michael Knowles described the social media post as \u201cthe most horrifying video I\u2019ve ever seen in my life\u201d and conservative commentator Robby Starbuck said the clip \u201cignites disgust and anger on a primal level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t feel it, you\u2019re broken,\u201d Starbuck\u00a0wrote. \u201cThis baby just wants mommy. The gleeful way these guys respond to the sad baby is just evil. I\u2019ve seen this cry before, and the sweet embrace of mom as she runs in.
