As America approaches its 250th anniversary, much of the nation is preparing to celebrate its history, its achievements, and its founding principles. But what if\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0overlooked the most important part of that story?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Have you taken your place on the wall?<\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

During a recent IFA webcast, a powerful idea\u00a0emerged\u2014one that challenges how many Americans, even believers, have understood the nation\u2019s origins: God is not just a helper in America\u2019s founding. He is the Founder.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

This perspective\u00a0reframes\u00a0everything.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

For generations, history has often been taught as though America\u2019s founders were primarily human leaders who occasionally sought divine guidance. While many acknowledge the faith of figures like George Washington or Benjamin Franklin, the broader narrative has minimized the extent of God\u2019s role.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

But a deeper look at history tells a different story.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

From the arrival of the Pilgrims and Puritans to the shaping of early education, biblical principles were not peripheral\u2014they were central. In fact,\u00a0the overwhelming majority of\u00a0early American colleges were founded to train ministers and instill a biblical worldview. Entire generations were raised in what could only be described as a culture saturated with God-consciousness.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

This spiritual foundation\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0just influence individuals\u2014it shaped the nation itself.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Consider the unity required for the colonies to come together, or the improbable victory in the Revolutionary War against the world\u2019s greatest military power.\u00a0Time and again, moments that defy purely human explanation appear throughout America\u2019s early history.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Even at the Constitutional Convention, when leaders reached an impasse, it was a call to prayer\u2014famously urged by Franklin\u2014that shifted the atmosphere and allowed progress to be made. The result was a\u00a0Constitution\u00a0that has preserved freedom for\u00a0nearly two\u00a0and a half centuries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

These are not isolated incidents. They point to something bigger.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

America was not simply a product of human ambition or political theory. It was, as discussed in the webcast,\u00a0initiated\u00a0and sustained by God for His purposes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

And yet, that truth has largely been forgotten.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

As we enter this milestone year, there is a growing sense that this is more than a time for\u00a0celebration\u2014it is a moment for remembrance. Scripture repeatedly calls God\u2019s people to remember His works, to recount His faithfulness, and to give Him the glory He is due.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

That same call applies today.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

If God is indeed the Founder of this nation, then America\u2019s future cannot be separated from Him. Freedom itself\u2014so central to the American identity\u2014is rooted in biblical truth. History shows that when nations drift from those foundations, they risk losing the very\u00a0freedoms\u00a0they were built upon.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

This places\u00a0a responsibility\u00a0on\u00a0believers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

The call is\u00a0not merely\u00a0to look back with gratitude, but to respond with action. That begins with repentance for where we have forgotten God, gratitude for His faithfulness, and renewed commitment to seek Him for the nation\u2019s future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

It also requires something deeply personal: listening.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

God is not only\u00a0writing\u00a0a story for America\u2014He is inviting each of us into it. In this moment, as the nation\u00a0reflects on\u00a0its past, He is calling His people to ask,\u00a0<\/span>What\u00a0is my role? What are You asking of me?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

The answers may look different for each person\u2014prayer, involvement in local communities, engagement in government, or simply a renewed commitment to live out biblical truth. But the invitation is the same: to partner with Him in what He is doing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

This 250th anniversary is not just a historical milestone. It is an opportunity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

An opportunity to recount.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

An opportunity to reclaim.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

An opportunity to rededicate this nation to the God who brought it into being.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

If America truly has a divine origin, then its future will depend on whether its people return to that foundation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
