{"id":27891,"date":"2026-04-29T09:30:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T09:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=27891"},"modified":"2026-04-29T09:30:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T09:30:25","slug":"10-5-million-in-medicaid-given-to-illegal-aliens-in-mississippi-state-auditor-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=27891","title":{"rendered":"$10.5 Million in Medicaid Given to Illegal Aliens in Mississippi, State Auditor Says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n              <span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time:<\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A new report from Mississippi State Auditor Shad White has uncovered that illegal aliens in the state received at least $10.5 million in\u00a0Medicaid\u00a0benefits between 2023 and 2025.\n<\/p>\n<h4>Pray for your fellow intercessor.<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this money had gone to benefit lawful citizens, it could have\u00a0reduced our taxes, paid our teachers, paid our police officers\u2014frankly, anything would be better than serving as a magnet for illegal immigrants to come to the United States,\u201d White told The Daily Signal.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMississippi taxpayers deserve to know the cost of illegal immigrants in our state, even if it makes some folks uncomfortable,\u201d White added. \u201cMy team will always tell you how your money in being spent, warts and all.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The new report comes after White\u2019s office released a\u00a0report in 2024<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">opens in a new tab<\/span>\u00a0titled \u201cHow Illegal Immigration Hurts Mississippi Taxpayers,\u201d which highlighted that state divisions were spending a staggering $4 million in taxpayer money on emergency services for illegal aliens.\n<\/p>\n<p>However, that analysis excluded the cost of Medicaid to illegal immigrants because\u00a0Mississippi\u2019s\u00a0Medicaid program failed to report expenditures for care for illegal immigrants despite being required by federal law.\n<\/p>\n<p>Federal law requires hospitals to provide emergency medical services regardless of immigration status. It also requires states to report how much taxpayer money is spent providing those services to illegal immigrants.\n<\/p>\n<p>This lack of disclosure prompted White to conduct a follow-up investigation into the Mississippi Division of\u00a0Medicaid, which determined that the department was spending massive amounts of federal taxpayer dollars without reporting it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only answer here is to have a\u00a0federal government\u00a0continue to do exactly what the Trump administration is doing, which is close our borders and enforce our immigration laws,\u201d White continued. \u201cIn addition, I pushed hard for a new law to make illegal immigration a state crime, and that bill passed this year, which will also help.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<h4>Share your prayers for accountability in the comments below.<\/h4>\n<p><em>This article was originally published at The Daily Signal.
