A scientist whose past atheism held him back from seeing God\u2019s design is now on a mission to share his faith.<\/p>\n
Former Harvard physicist Dr. Michael Guill\u00e9n has long shared his journey to Christianity, but his new project, a groundbreaking 80-minute documentary titled \u201cThe Invisible Everywhere: Believing Is Seeing,\u201d uses artificial intelligence to craft a powerful faith narrative.<\/p>\n
Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Guill\u00e9n told CBN News he used consumer-grade AI tools and his home computer to put the film together \u2014 a powerful quest to explore the existence and reality of God.<\/p>\n \u201cI got a PhD in physics, math, and astronomy from Cornell,\u201d he said. \u201cI taught physics at Harvard. So \u2026 I\u2019m your quintessential pinhead.\u201d<\/p>\n These credentials led Guill\u00e9n to embrace an atheist worldview before coming to Christianity. He wrote about this in his 2021 book \u201cBelieving Is Seeing.\u201d Since that time, people have been coming to Guill\u00e9n to ask him to make a movie so that his journey from atheism to Christianity can be further illuminated.<\/p>\n Rather than go the typical Hollywood route, he eventually decided to script the story and dive deep into it using AI. But that wasn\u2019t Guill\u00e9n\u2019s original plan.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was last February \u2014 February 25th,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ll never forget it. It was 4 in the morning. At that point, I thought I was just going to make the film in a traditional kind of way. I\u2019d already done another movie called \u2018Little Red Wagon;\u2019 it\u2019s distributed by Lionsgate. It\u2019s on Amazon Prime now. But we went through the theaters.\u201d<\/p>\n While he was fully preparing for the traditional route, Guill\u00e9n said God suddenly delivered a powerful message.<\/p>\n \u201cJust out of nowhere, the Lord just spoke to me and He said, \u2018I need you to just make this movie in an unconventional way,’\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I was so shocked.\u201d<\/p>\n But Guill\u00e9n chose to listen to the Lord, relying on AI tools \u2014 and not Hollywood studios \u2014 to make the movie himself.<\/p>\n \u201cA year later, here I am with a full-length motion picture,\u201d he said, noting it might be the first time a person has used a desktop computer and consumer-level AI tools to make a full-length movie like his.<\/p>\n Ultimately, Guill\u00e9n said the film is \u201cmeant to glorify the Lord\u201d and to bring attention to eternal subject matter.<\/p>\n \u201cIt basically tells the story of my journey from atheism to believing in God,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Guill\u00e9n explained that, before his conversion, he was a \u201cscientific monk\u201d while studying at Cornell University.<\/p>\n \u201cI lived, ate, and breathed science,\u201d he said. \u201cScience was my god. So I spent about 20 hours a day in my lab in the basement at Cornell \u2014 didn\u2019t know if it was day or night, had no social life, didn\u2019t want a social life.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, though, the scientist is sharing truth with the masses and living a very different, faith-filled experience. He even shared how his own prayer journey before making the movie, he believes, made it all possible.<\/p>\n Before turning to AI to complete the project, Guill\u00e9n reached out to faith leaders and others to seek prayer for the project. He now believes their obedience in loving on him through invoking God was essential to the project\u2019s success.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think I could have been sustained without their prayers,\u201d Guill\u00e9n said. \u201cAnd, in fact, I say this is a movie funded by prayer, meant for the glory of God.\u201d<\/p>\n One of the big takeaways in \u201cThe Invisible Everywhere: Believing Is Seeing\u201d is how science pointed Guill\u00e9n toward God and not away from Him.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Bible commands us to be able to explain our faith to others,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd what this movie will do for you, if you\u2019re already a hardcore believer, is it will give you enormous ammunition to respond to an atheist who comes up to you and says, \u2018How do you believe in an invisible God? You have to be weak-minded.
