Actor Neal McDonough is on a mission to live out his faith in Hollywood, creating fulfilling content that helps shape hearts and minds.<\/p>\n
McDonough, an eclectic actor who has five children with his wife, Ruve, told CBN News he has tried to teach his kids an important lesson: to put God first.<\/p>\n
Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe teach them, \u2018The only thing you should care about in life isn\u2019t what mom and dad think of you, isn\u2019t what your friends think of you,’\u201d he said. \u201c\u2018It\u2019s only what God thinks of you.’\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cJimmy\u201d star said he has changed his own mental positioning after going through a difficult time in his life and has been focusing more on loving and serving God \u2014 and others.<\/p>\n \u201cTo serve God, and to serve others instead of being served \u2014 that\u2019s the antithesis to Hollywood,\u201d McDonough said. \u201cEveryone in Hollywood\u2019s looking to be served, and it\u2019s a lonely existence, \u2019cause you\u2019ll never be served enough.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked about his legacy, the actor said he\u2019s most concerned about how he has served as a husband, father \u2014 and human.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not sure legacy means really that much to me,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s, \u2018Did I do the work for Him? Was I a good brother \u2026 Was I a good dad? Was I a good husband? Was I good \u2014 all those things?’\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cSometimes I fall or fell flat on my face, and I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll fall flat on my face again.
