Would the existence of aliens and UFOs rock Christians\u2019 faith? That\u2019s the question many are asking as the U.S. government releases files documenting unidentified anomalous phenomena \u2014 or UAPs \u2014 and other unexplained occurrences, yet some faith leaders note there\u2019s not necessarily a conflict between the potential presence of aliens and the Bible.<\/p>\n
CBN News\u2019 Efrem Graham, who recently sat down with legendary film director Steven Spielberg to discuss Spielberg\u2019s new film, \u201cDisclosure Day,\u201d a movie about aliens and UFOs, recently addressed this issue.<\/p>\n
When asked if he believes the existence of aliens should rock people\u2019s faith, Graham said he doesn\u2019t believe so.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think this should shake anyone\u2019s faith,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is certainly my prayer that that wouldn\u2019t be the case.\u201d<\/p>\n
Considering the Bible makes it clear in numerous places Jesus came to die and rise again for human beings \u2014 and considering that angels, who seem to have free will, are not included in the salvation plan \u2014 it wouldn\u2019t be a barrier for aliens to have free will and also not be covered under that plan.<\/p>\n
That is, of course, if aliens exist. Many experts like astrophysist Hugh Ross believe there are neither aliens nor UFOs and that most of what people report seeing is actually demonic and spiritual, not physical.<\/p>\n
Ross details these views in CBN\u2019s new film, \u201cInvestigating the Supernatural: Angels and Demons.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for \u201cDisclosure Day,\u201d Graham asked Spielberg why he included faith and elements of Christianity in the film, to which the director replied that he believes these themes are at the core of the issues the film addresses.<\/p>\n
Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cHe says at the heart of this, he felt it was a film about faith \u2014 faith in humanity, faith in a higher power,\u201d Graham said. \u201cAnd he felt that that was critical and important to include.\u201d<\/p>\n Spielberg also indicated this film, like all of his projects, is a \u201cwork of yearning,\u201d as he seeks to understand the issues at play. Decades ago, his movie \u201cE.T.\u201d tackled a similar topic, albeit in a different way.<\/p>\n \u201cIf we go back and look at his films, I\u2019m going all the way back to \u2018E.T.\u2019 \u2026 this is something he\u2019s been fascinated with \u2026 since his childhood, he\u2019s always been curious,\u201d Graham said. \u201cAre we here alone? Is there something else? For most of us, yes, we\u2019ve had that question. But, for us, faith has solidified that for us.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cAnd we know that our faith, our calling, our purpose is all found in Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch Graham further discuss the issue in the video above.
