\u201cPeople who do not support the DSA wring their hands at cocktail parties, while the DSA is organizing,\u201d Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., told Axios. \u201cIt was a tough night,\u201d Gregory Meeks, another Democrat from New York, told the outlet. New York Attorney General Letitia James said Mamdani\u2019s endorsements threaten to \u201cblow up\u201d the Democratic Party.\n<\/p>\n

She has since said she has grown since making those statements but continues to identify as an advocate for Palestinian causes. Another Mamdani-backed candidate, Claire Valdez, celebrated her victory by calling for supporters to \u201cabolish ICE, free Palestine, organize your union, and join DSA.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
